Cafe restaurante was excellent food, drinks in the sun and service. We had pork chop and tuna steak for lunch. Reasonable prices, delicious food and great service.

Nice hotel with a old school look. Liked the pictures in the main reception area. One was the Mayor of Puerto in the 19th century who used to live there. Reasonable price food and drink. Stayed Christmas week with a good view of the town and church from the 5th floor. Didnt use the air con as the nights were cool enough to sleep well. The sea and local amenties only a short walk. The culture shock was sunbathing Christmas day when used to freezing back home.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I want to let other people know that Hotel Marquesa doesn't match what's advertised. We originally scheduled to stay there for four nights, but we checked out after just one night. First and most importantly, the room was dirty, had cold lighting, outdated furniture and had a fly infestation. I found 37 flies (to be precise!), in just under 24 hours, and had to close the bathroom door because I suspected they live in the shower drain. I didn't have a good night's sleep, as I was very paranoid with the flies and lack of hygiene, the room was cold at night and the noise insulation was lacking. There were also aggressive knocking from guests next door on our wall which was unexplained. Also, I was given two key cards for entering the bedroom, but they weren't working several times, despite the receptionist (Alessia) trying their best to set them up. Like the bedroom, the buffet restaurant had cold lighting. The tables were cramped, I had difficulty finding an empty table and the breakfast menu doesn't have as much variety as I saw in other hotels in Tenerife. Thirdly, the majority of staff that I interacted with were either rude or cold. During dinner time, I and my partner encountered miscommunication issues; we took food away from another restaurant and didn't want to eat in our room, the receptionist on the afternoon/night shift (Alessia) welcomed us to eat anywhere in the hotel, but another staff member rudely told my partner that he couldn't eat our food in the buffet restaurant, despite being told that we originally could. We also asked for a drink of tap water and we were told to pay for it, which we thought was outrageous. When we checked out, the receptionist we interacted with in the morning (not sure what her name is) had no warming personality that was memorable. One positive experience was interacting with Alessia, the receptionist who I and my partner checked in with. She had a friendly and positive personality, was attentive to my needs and I clearly saw she did her best when trying to resolve our issues.

Great location, but that's the only good thing, our room was nothing like the photos, felt like we were put in the naughty corner. Opening room door was very hit n miss, same with WiFi, which hardly worked, wardrobe wouldn't open properly, lighting very poor, and when shower room bulb blew, we had to wait the next day as the technician had gone home at 4pm. Very outdated, noticed window missing on stairwell, room very cold at night and only one pillow each. Breakfast was basic nothing 3 star about it, too many guest not enough seats and tables. Sending email to Easyjet, as I feel a bit robbed due to pictures on website. Loved Puerto De La Cruz, will go next year, but different hotel.

Lovely hotel. Staff were more than happy to provide anything we needed & answered many of our touristy questions with pleasure! They have a 24 hour reception that is there to answer the door during the night/early morning if you go out/come in. They recommend a mountain hike when our plans to hike the volcano fell through as well as filling up our water bottles, providing discounts for shops, free wifi and extra toilet roll. Rooms were cleaned when requested with new soaps, toilet roll, fresh towels, beds changed & made, bin empties, bath gel & shampoo provided. They also have a cash point within the hotel with I believe a €5 fee (cheaper than many ATM’s there). There is a rooftop pool open between 10am-6pm and sun loungers as well as a pool table with a fee of €1 per game and 2 vending machines.

Just don't go. Not only is the hotel bad enough, when you write a letter of complaint, their defence is actually quite shocking. Amongst my complaints were the fact that when I opened the curtain in the room, I was startled to see 2 men (in their room) with one on the balcony who was only feet away from my window. I could have shook his hand. That's how close he was. The layout of the building meant that their balcony almost faced directly into my room. Being a lone female in that room, and having only escaped domestic abuse some months before, I was understandably frightened. I knew I wouldn't be able to open my curtain - for privacy if nothing else. Hotelbeds (who connect travel agents with hotels, among other things) stated that my fear, and therefore complaint, is "a subjective reason" and that "there was no issue with the room." I would challenge that and suggest that not many lone females would feel safe and comfortable in a room where 2 strange men are only about 6ft outside your room window! I had never had a "surprise holiday" before, but that's what Marquesa was. I don't go to fancy hotels, but cleanliness is always my priority. If you like a clean hotel, steer clear. Want pleasant staff? You won't find them here. All Inclusive? I dare you to eat in that "dining hall." Oh and if you're vegetarian, don't expect to be fed, even if you HAVE already paid for it! Want a shower? If you can actually unstick the shower screen door, you'll take one look and decide against it. Please, just stay away...

My wife and I called in for a drink. Sat outside. Ordered two large beers. Luckily I could see the bar staff filling our glasses about 3/4 the way up from a jug behind the bar. Then filled the remaining 1/4 from the pump. I went and asked was this special beer and they both looked sheepish. We left without taking a sip. If they do this with beer I dread to think what must be going on in the kitchen. Steer well clear.

What a beautiful historical building, and perfect location, I was optimistic about the previous reviews and I'm pleased I went ahead with my booking. On first arrival the receptionist was very pleasant and very helpful, I'm so sorry I didn't get her name ( I'm sure the management can work out who she is by my check in on the 2/9/25 at 1 pm) she is a credit to your hotel. The hotel is located on a pedestrian square and is amazing, the church opposite is beautiful, on a Sunday evening they do a parade down the main street. There are lots of restaurants nearby, which I can say they are fab. I booked bed and breakfast so I can only comment on that.... It was ok... Not a 5* buffet but I didn't book a 5* hotel. However the restaurant on the terrace of the hotel was amazing. The only negative things were, there is no air con in the rooms, it is there but not activated, they do provide electric fans, not the best. My room temperature was a constant 32.9 degrees 🙈. The WiFi I'm afraid was also not good, to the point it was abysmal. However that didn't bother me too much anyway as I was on holiday to relax. The staff at this hotel are amazing, thank you to all of you for making my holiday so enjoyable. X

This will give you a full review of the place with pictures. Please keep in mind this is my opinion after been to several hotels across the world but also the canary islands.

Before I say any bad things about the hotel, I would like to say that the staff was amazing and professional. The person that greeted us was on of the best staff members any hotel could have and he should really get a raise. Also please note this is a 3 star cheap hotel so you also get what u pay for.

Never the less here is why I am giving it 2 stars:

Closest parking is at the beach which will leave you with a 10 min walk to get there. Other hotels do suffer the same issue but many also dont and are located at less busy areas while still very close to the city.

No air conditioning (well they dont work) and this has to be one of the MAJOR concerns because in summer the island is HOT. The room was like a furnace (31 degrees according to the thermostat). 2 of the rooms that we got did not have access to the sea view but rather a wall meaning no wind would go in. But tbh they did offer to relocate us to the sea view however the wind is very strong and you wont have any peace. So either way js horrible.

The furniture is really bad. One of the 2 rooms we got had a closet with no door (was broken) the other rooms closet had a door that will almost break. Most of the other furniture looked like it will fall apart.

Can't comment on the food because we changed hotels before we can even try it, but I saw it was give 2.5 stars so..... I dont recommend.

The pool is tiny and barely fits anyone and is crowded when 10 people are there. So dont count on going to the pool.

Overall, if you just want a place to PURELY sleep and dont mind 30 degrees or you go in winter then it might be fine and the location is good. But this really cannot be a 3 star hotel with such facilities and standards. I am giving it 2 stars only because the staff were amazing and welcoming and returned our money.

When here for a early evening cocktail. Ordered two but I did nok like mine. When I asked the waiter for a beer she ask if the cocktail was not good. I said I did not liked it. Then she took the cocktail and gave me a beer for no extra charge. That is perfect service and the view and atmosphere is perfect and really cozy.

It's not really ideal for non-english speakers, as you're unsure if you're being overcharged as prices vary depending on who you purchase from. It's also quite difficult to order for delivery as nobody speaks English over the phones, so most of the times you have to pick it up yourself from physically going to the pizza takeaway. The pizza itself is great though

Pizza here is top notch. The pizza base is really tasty and toppings are fresh. Lots of flavour. Staff very friendly. Great value for money. Delicious. Will be here again.
