We recently stayed at The Heritage Galle Fort and enjoyed the overall experience. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the Fort — and the property itself is beautifully set. Our room was spotless, functional, and well equipped, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were pleasant and welcoming throughout. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary foot massage, which we truly appreciated. One of us also had a full body massage and found it excellent. The only disappointment was the buffet dinner, which left quite a lot to be desired in terms of variety and quality. Our recommendation would be to enjoy the comfortable rooms and breakfast here, but explore the many excellent dining options elsewhere in Galle Fort for dinner. Overall, a pleasant stay with an area for improvement.

In the heart of Gall Fort area in stunning buildings and gardens the staff here have created an oasis of calm stylish large roomed nestled amongst flowering frangipanis. The setting location and services here are fabulous. It was great value for the offering. The manager went out of his way to look after us and ensure we had everything we needed. Poorna the chef created a fresh delicious intercontinental breakfast that we thoroughly enjoyed. We loved this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Pros Excellent well located between many eateries, plus close proximity to rampart wall Well sized rooms and bathrooms Charming feel Complimentary food massage Cons The room has high windows with glass and wood, hence there is always some light coming inside the room, nothing ideal for people who like to sleep in a dark room. Also doors creak alot while opening and shutting so can be disturbing if people are sleeping Limited vegetarian options at breakfast and even on Ala carte menu. We ate all our meals out.

Stayed for one night (wished we stayed longer!). Brilliant central location, wonderful breakfast and super comfy beds. The foot massage was a gorgeous added bonus. The staff were so so helpful and a credit to the hotel. Thank you everyone at The Heritage Hotel.

Please book this hotel at your own risk. The showers are honestly dangerous. The temperature control does not work at all. You step in and the water is scalding hot, so hot that you can actually burn yourself. No matter which way you turn the knob, left, right, or any other direction, only extremely hot water comes out. To make things worse, the so called suite has a phone that no one answers. It keeps showing the line is busy. So imagine being stuck in the shower with shampoo in your hair, steam filling the bathroom, painfully hot water pouring down on you, and no way to call for help. I was stuck like that for a long time, already partially burnt, with no response from the staff. When someone finally turned up, they had no idea what the problem was or how to fix it. Overall, it was a scary and frustrating experience. Please think twice and book this hotel entirely at your own risk.

This was a charming hotel. Very comfortable and great location. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. The staff were very helpful. Free foot massage was so good I booked a back, shoulder and head massage which was one of the best I have ever!! Wonderful way to start our travels through Sri Lanka. I highly recommend getting one.

An ideally located property right in the heart of the Galle Fort precinct , surrounded by shops and restaurants galore . This hotel had such a lovely charm to it and the room was beautiful. I loved sitting on the chair outside our 3rd floor room . The towels even smelt really pleasant . Thoroughly enjoyed both a foot massage as well as a face massage . Breakfast and dinner was in the open restaurant looking out onto a tree filled courtyard . Staff were friendly and helpful. If you are having breakfast and require GF neither the Sri Lankan nor Western breakfast will be suitable but you could have the traditional one without Roti or hoppers or the Western without the bread . Somehow this got lost between checkin and breakfast . Just tell them when ordering .

My stay at The Heritage Hotel Galle Fort was remarkable, with its fantastic location being a highlight. Nestled conveniently close to a variety of restaurants and shops, it offers the ease of exploring Galle's vibrant culture right at your doorstep.

The proximity to the iconic lighthouse and the beaches, just a short walk away, adds to the charm of the hotel. Starting the day with the wonderful breakfast options available was a delight. Moreover, the professionalism of the staff was commendable; they were attentive and ensured a seamless experience throughout my stay.

The combination of location, service, and comfort makes The Heritage Hotel a place I would gladly choose again for future visits to Galle.

We were recently meant to stay at the heritage hotel for 1 night, but unfortunately the room had issues. The manager was very accomodating and already found us another hotel to stay at. The room was lovely and spacious. He also gave us a bottle of wine and encouraged us to come for lunch and dinner. He made good of a bad situation, which we are very grateful of. Definitely recommend this hotel for the service and hospitality.

The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Breakfast is delicious and very good but can become a bit repetitive if staying more than a day so a couple of other options to select would be good. Service is very good and friendly from staff.

We had the best stay at Prince of Galle. Such a lovely location, with beautiful interior design and thoughtful attention to detail. A real highlight for us was the friendly and genuinely caring service from Rukman, Kapila, and Sarengh, who made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was also fantastic. Truly a little gem in Galle, we would definitely come back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special.

Don’t think twice about staying here, Prince of Galle is a real gem. Effortlessly stylish with classic colonial charm, perfectly located inside Galle Fort with everything within easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional and genuinely go above and beyond. Rooms are small but beautifully done and completely in keeping with the building’s character. The iced tea really is the best, and breakfast is on another level. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel on a quiet side street within the fort itself. We were lucky enough to stay in the Kings Residence on the top floor. The style of the property is Sri Lankan colonial but with western comforts like air conditioning. The top floor suite includes an open plan sitting area with chairs and access to a small terrace to view the sunset.
The staff are so welcoming and pandered to our every need. The breakfast justifies its billing as superb and is a lovely combination of Sri Lankan flavours served in a western style.
