Sultan Sands Island Resort in Kiwengwa

We stayed at this hotel three weeks ago, and I can say that it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. I usually never return to hotels I’ve already stayed at, but this is definitely a place I would come back to!
It was a very calm and relaxing holiday with amazing views. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and never intrusive. The rooms might be a little outdated, but it didn’t affect our stay at all, especially since they were cleaned very well every day.
There are local vendors on the beach who can be a bit annoying, as well as Maasai people, but they are not pushy at all. You can have interesting conversations with them and learn a lot. Overall, it was a great vacation. I have warm memories of this place

Sultan Sands is a wonderfull resort, located on de beach. The resort is well maintained, luxurious and beautifully set up. The staff is warm, friendly and professional and did everything to make our stay (for the second time) unforgettable. We had and all inclusive arrangement and enjoyed the food which is healthy and delicious.

Everything was absolutely perfect from the very first moment. The staff was truly amazing – always friendly, professional, smiling, and ready to help with anything we needed. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our entire stay. The food was also perfect, fresh, delicious, and with a great variety every day. Everything was well prepared and beautifully presented. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for. You can really feel that the people here care about guests and quality. We enjoyed every single moment and created beautiful memories. We will definitely come back next year ❤️ ❤️

We stayed at Sultan Sands Zanzibar for our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and we received several complimentary surprises because it was our honeymoon. During our photo session, we were also given a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which was a very thoughtful gesture.
Special thanks to Fatima, who helped us with everything — transportation, organization, and solving any issues. Thanks to her, we felt truly taken care of.

Literally one of the most beautiful small hotels on the island. The staff is fantastic, food is delicious. I came alone and was literally treated like a princess, all the staff knew my name after 1 day. The beach is mesmerising and a very quiet place to relax in overall

We stayed at Sultan Sands Island Resort on Zanzibar for two weeks in September and absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms were really clean, spacious, including a little balcony. Most rooms are in huts, which just adds to the charm. We particularly chose this hotel because it is relatively small, so more personal. And we were not disappointed. The staff were amazing. The hotel manager, Jimmy, was super hands on, helping out wherever needed. In particular staff in the restaurant went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would like to especially mention Hidaya, one of the superviors. Always smiling. And she made sure a particular table was reserved for us, without even asking. Other staff that were amazing were Sophia and her sister, Angel, Mohammed and Ochien. Also the lady who mostly served at the bar closest to the beach - we think her name is Happy. The pool was clean and spacious. There was never any overcrowding. And the beach was clean, with super fine soft white sand. At times there was some washed up seaweed, but that’s nature. People were incredibly friendly. We also explored the local village a little and felt completely safe. There is clearly a lot of poverty on the island, but people are warm and friendly, and welcoming. When walking on the beach, be prepared to be approached by lots of locals who want to sell their goods or services. If you do take a walk when the tide is out (recommended, as you will see lots of interesting sea life), make sure you take beach shoes, as there are lots of sea urchins. The buffet is smaller in range compared to other all inclusive hotels. But there is still good variety and the food was delicious and of high quality. There were some food stations that cooked fresh food for dinners. Very good selection of fresh salads every day along with fresh fruit. All the meat is halal unless otherwise stated.
