Milele Beach Resort in Pingwe

This was an excellent spot to stay, quiet beach, really lovely sized room. Great pool. Staff were really attentive without being in the way. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Also try the gnocchi from the restaurant it was exceptional!

We had spent the first part of our honeymoon in Tanzania mainland, doing a safari. When arriving on Zanzibar, we had a very unfortunate event. We had booked a horrible hotel in Nungwi, which risked destroying our honeymoon. We started searching around and found this beautiful boutique hotel "Milele Beach Resort". This beautiful hotel is owned and operated by the italian power-woman Lisa (Isabella) and her nice son Niccolo. The resort is on the beach, so you can go swimming in the ocean or go for long beach walks. There is also a pool, and a lot of sunbeds with traditional parasols/sun covers. You can order drinks and lunch to the sunbeds. Breakfast is simple but good, with omelettes, fresh fruits, juice, pastries, coffee, and so on. However, what is most important is the atmosphere. Lisa, her family and her hotel staff are very kind and they make your stay feel like you are staying with a family. We went scuba diving from a company which is 5 minutes away on foot, and also went to the famous restaurant The Rock which is 15 minutes away in car. Milele Beach Resort offers a sea-view massage spot for couples. There is music one day each week, where a local band plays music and invites the guests to dance. It was very funny, and even Lisa and her family joined the dance because her birthday coincided with the music day. If you are a couple, or newlyweds, or looking to ignite the passion with your beloved one, this is the place to stay. We used this hotel as our base for exploring the island. We highly recommend this hotel, and the owner Lisa, she was the SAVIOR of our honeymoon!

The ocean front bungalow, the staff were exceptional very attentive, more staff than guests, the food was good. The quietness, the ambience Bathroom too dark, no magnifying mirror, nothing going on in the evening. Concrete under the sand in front of our bungalow, banged my toes a few times This was being covered as we was leaving, not sure if this would remedy the problem, but it is not dangerous. But what I would say about this hotel is the Restaurant owner and his wife are very pleasant and spent time to chat, unfortunately she was returning home as we arrived. The owners son again is very pleasent and helped whenever he could, great check in and check out very helpful when the shower was cold. We wrote a review on *********** giving a 9 and mentioned the concret under the sand which was from where it had been left by the wall and other areas - and then had a very intense response from the owner, who I blocked, to say that my comment re the concrete was unreasonable, as was due to storm damage, and that she had lost a booking as people had said they were cancelling as was dangerous - It wasnt dangerous, but was a fair comment . And if she knew it was there maybe you should have sorted it out sooner!! Plus it was most unexpected as the actual bungalows are truly lovely and the view fantastic, so ruined the whole experience. So I would say if you don't put a review she likes then you will get a very intense response.....

This resort is an easy 10 out of 10. We absolutely loved this very special place and could not recommend it enough. The location is good, the rooms are lovely, the pool and amenities are very good, the restaurant is also amazing! Loved all the food we had there, it was all delicious. The owner Lisa was lovely and made us feel very welcome and right at home and she went above and beyond for us. The staff were absolutely exceptional. We have never received service like it, they made us feel like we were the only guests and like we were family. A very special place to spent some of our honeymoon.

Fantastic family run boutique hotel right on the water! What a gem! Rooms are fantastic, bathroom is very spacious, the location is ideal (right on the beach), restaurant is very cute and stays open till late and Lisa, the manager is the soul of the place! Excellent staff that treated us like family! The welcome was also phenomenal - champagne and a small bite that made us feel very special on our honeymoon! Pool is great and the colours of the horizon are gorgeous from the sunbeds. Well done guys!

Milele Beach Resort was the perfect choice for to spend a few days by the Indian Ocean. The resort is right on the oceanfront, the entrance of our bungalow was no further than 30 meters from the waves - it was majestic to listen the swell at night.

The resort only has four rooms and four bungalows - a true boutique hotel. Our bungalow was comfortable and spacious, all made of natural materials, mainly stone, including the bed frame. The cleaning was impeccable, as soon as we brought in the sand, it was swept up immediately. The shower in the bathroom is also made of stone, fantastic. The room is equipped with a fan and air conditioning, rather we opened the window to hear the ocean at night.

The owner is an Italian lady, so the cuisine is Italian-style, with a choice menu of both Italian and local dishes. The food is delicious, we were always very well-off. Breakfast and dinner ara both stunning with the view of the pool and Indian Ocean in the background. (see pictures.)

There is a bar in operation, my wife said she drank the best Pina Colada cocktail of her life here. The staff is kind and friendly.

You can swim directly in the ocean (I did), but if you don't want, you can choose the large pool. Each room has a separate parasol and two sunbeds, but rocking chairs by the pool are perhaps more comfortable.

We found a true pearl with Milele Beach Resort, the distance from our home, Europe, may be the only reason we aren’t sure to return here. As I told the owner, if the resort were in Europe, we would be regulars by her.

We did our honeymoon there and it was perfect. The rooms are beachfront and have areas to relax.
The restaurant is amazing and serve delicious food, the best we ate in zanzibar.
The staff are very nice and welcoming .

We enjoyed our time and we can’t thank the staff enough for being so wonderful and hospitable!
We had to leave early in the morning for a flight Lisa woke up at 4 am to make sure we are up and brought delicious breakfast with everything we asked for especially for us!
She and the wonderful crew had made the vacation feel like home.
