Albatross Ocean View in Pingwe

Making a vacation at Albatross Ocean View Hotel in Zanzibar was the best plan my boyfriend and I made. The location of the hotel makes the beauty of catching the sunrise absolutely breathtaking.
The friendly staff were always so kind and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We had booked three days and we added five more because it was such a good stay. They also made us a beautiful, romantic set-up at the beach (it was such a beautiful surprise) at the beach .The manager was so friendly too. We were sad to finally leave after our stay but we will definitely come back, hopefully sooner!

Albatross Ocean View is a wonderful small hotel. The whole staff is very friendly. Food, rooms and service are also excellent. Very familiar atmosphere. The staff also offers support in planning trips in Sansibar!

This nice, relatively small and well maintained hotel offers everything you need. Enjoy the outstanding hospitality of a wonderful team and an excellent kitchen. We had a beautiful room on the second floor wiht a spacious balcony and a wonderful view of the beach and the ocean. The rooms was nice and very clean. We can just recommend this place! Nothign to critizice at all.

We stay to this hotel for two weeks in middle of July.We enjoy every minute of our stay. From the reception, to the boys and girls in restaurant, the cleaning team, the Kinando this very special Massai man, the Frank the man behind everything and of course the Samson. The general manager with solutions for everything. The hotel is on the beach, very clean , with spacious rooms. A little tired but in good condition. We stayed under all inclusive package. The food was fresh cooked every day and was tasty. The only proposal is to change the menu week by week. As we stayed for two weeks, after the first week you have to taste the same. Of course we will have to thank all the team for the dinner of my wife's name day as well as the last complimentary dinner with the huge " Sardine". If you like to hear only the sound of silence, this is the place. Long walks on the white sandy beach, thousands of coconut, clear waters and the spirit of Africa everywhere. Great time in this human scale hotel , with great service , and great place . We have stayed Ten Days , i was a great experience , really peacefull. The staff is really sympathic , and we had great surprise form the staff during our romantic stay.

The hotel was very beautiful with great views of the ocean. The staff was very accomadating. With low tides in the mornings we were able to walk along the beach. This a secluded beach best for couples. Our suite was ocean front with the best views of the ocean

We spent 5 nights at the Albatross in October. Apparently, this is the low season so they don't have full services in the restaurant. It would have been helpful to have that information indicated on the website in advance for us to make a fully informed decision. The rooms were spacious with a large bed and small table with one chair. The bed was quite hard but we appreciated the mosquito netting and the effort of spraying twice per day to keep the bugs to a minimum. The bathroom was large and they provided shampoo and a hair dryer. There was some nice seating on the patio out front of our room that we utilized and enjoyed. The beach has significant tides which we knew about but when the tide was in it was a great spot for swimming. There was a company on the beach that offered water activities but we just enjoyed relaxing in the water and by the pool. Both had super warm water. The property and grounds are very nice and well maintained. The food was really where we were disappointed. The breakfast buffet had very limited options. We ate there two nights for dinner and found the food to be very basic. Perhaps for families with small children, it would be a good fit. For us, it was very mediocre. The staff were all very sweet and the manager checked in regularly so that was great. They took excellent care of us and bent over backward to make our stay pleasant. The location was nice and we were able to get around to a couple of other restaurants - including the Jetty at the Dongwe Beach Club which served an incredible meal. The 4 stars are really due to the lacklustre food. If eating nice meals isn't a priority for you then this is a great spot to stay.

We just spent five nights at the Ocean View. The location at Dongwe is perfect if you are after peace and serenity. Go to Paje if you want more action and kite surfing. The staff are attentive and we'll trained. The food is good. It is priced similarly to the hotels and restaurants in the area. We found the restaurants in Paje town to be much more reasonably priced, but we we accepted that we were on the beach in Dongwe and the prices werethe norm for the area. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only four stars for the room because the mattress was lumpy. The hotel is situated right where you can organise snorkelling tours and that was one of the highlights. The beach has white sand that goes on forever. The pool is pristine. We loved our stay. Thank you to Moses, Benjamin and Sauda in the restaurant. You really looked after us!

We stayed at Albatross Ocean View for 10 days and we had an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, the room was great with spectacular views, the pool and the beach were awesome, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the staff is absolutely amazing! We had full board and it was definitely worth it; the food, as I said, is delicious, with pretty much everything being homemade, including the bread, the jams, the sweet pastries, etc. The staff was super attentive, friendly and helpful; they even made us some donuts to go for our super early flight and also prepared a very nice surprise for our last night! The cleaning staff was great, as our room was cleaned daily and it felt super clean all the time. I could spend a long time praising everything we liked in this hotel, but I can say that all in all, it was absolutely perfect for us, and we definitely recommend this hotel if you visit Zanzibar!!
