Antonio Beach Hotel and Spa in Uroa

I will keep this hotel in my worst list hotels which I visited in my life

The hotel has a large property with many animals, including camels, donkeys, and monkeys, as well as a beautiful cave located on a hill. The staff were very kind and always tried to accommodate our requests even preparing breakfast packages for our flight home. There is a small pool, which turned out to be a real savior, as the beach was one of the worst we experienced in Zanzibar.

There is only one payment terminal, and on a few occasions the reception desk was unattended, which made settling the bill a bit inconvenient — especially considering that card payment is advertised everywhere. At the other hand, at breakfast, they prepared pancakes upon request even though they were not on the menu that day, which was a nice touch.

However, service times were very slow. After half an hour of waiting, we were told that the dish we ordered was difficult to prepare and we would need to wait even longer. We waited nearly two hours for a frozen pizza. Hygiene was also an issue — there were cockroaches in the toilet area near the kitchen. Our deluxe room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, the shower curtain was ineffective and allowed water to splash everywhere, and the internet barely worked — Wi-Fi kept cutting out, was slow, and didn’t cover the whole property. What was really pleasant was to find a bottle of fresh water per room every day.

Many of the dishes were not tasty, especially those with pork and beef, and they were also overpriced. On the other hand, the Indian dishes and the fish were excellent.

Although the staff were extremely nice and did their best to make us feel welcome, we received an unpleasant goodbye gift. The night before our departure, we went to the reception desk to ask for assistance with our luggage in the morning as our rooms were quite far away from the parking lot where the taxi should wait for us in the morning. Nobody from the stuff came and we had to literally drag our luggage through the tons of sand just to get to the entrance of the hotel. Unfortunately, due to the many issues we experienced first-hand, we would not choose to stay here again.

This place sucks!!!!
It was not good in fact it ******. The food was awful,the manager was also awful. Under construction loud and noisy. Piles of sand everywhere. You could barely see the beach. Brown mold on the walls. So unhappy with this we checked out early they wouldn't give me my money back. Hotels you would not refund my money.
So you suck also will never do business with again. Thanks for nothing. You ruined my holiday.😡
