The hotel is closely involved with tours to climb Kilimanjaro and some safaris. The main impression is that it is friendly and efficient. Food is good and gear can be hired. You can store items for safe keeping while climbing. The hotel is out of town and gated. The grounds are attractive. However some of the rooms are a bit basic. Overall if you are here to climb, it will serve its purpose well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful! Heads up: the beach had a lot of sea urchins in January. There were some local youths that showed us safe passage and starfish, sea spiders, lionfish, etc. right there on our beach for a small fee. For swimming the hotel pool was beautiful. Hakuna Majiwe is a safe, clean, and well-maintained location, offering a pleasant living environment. It is advisable to prepare a well-structured budget, as there may be unexpected costs, such as the Zanzibar government tourism taxes. While prices are somewhat higher than average, which is typical for similar destinations, the quality of services provided is excellent and meets expectations.

The hotel is great, very welcoming Cleaned and environmentally sound However it is located very far (about 1h30min) from what we call “pinterest” beaches. At the moment we came, the roads were in chaos due to roadworks and repairs. Overall, for those who just want to stay at the hotel, without really wanting to explore the city, it’s a great choice.

It is a villa cabin hotel with unique furniture and excellent service. Breakfast can be ordered on site. There is a small supermarket in front of the hotel and you can see Mount Meru in front of the door.

I stayed in Arusha for two days on a business trip. I booked a place because it was close to the airport. But there was nothing nearby. There was a dirt road at the entrance. A meal at the hotel restaurant cost $20 (pictured). There were 7-8 power outages a day, and the internet went down with the power outage. I could only see Mount Meru from a distance.

Service was excellent! WiFi has been upgraded to provide different access for different areas of hotel and we always had availability. Food was very good and our waiter put fresh flowers and petals on our table for each evening he knew we would dine there. The staff were willing to work with guests however they seems to be unaware of what guests needed. The food was OK and edible. The main issue with the hotel was the shower and bathroom. The shower was an accident waiting to happen. The beddings are old. Vacuum cleaners needs to be introduced instead of those mops that keep transfer hair from one room to another. It was an eyesore. Location was great. This is a pretty nice local hotel.The staff is amazingly nice and helpful. I chose Nefaland because it is right across the street from the ABC Upper Class ticketing office. I use them when traveling to Iringa because I can board the bus directly at their office before they head out to the bus station on the limits of Dar es Salaam.
