Phi Phi Ba Kao Bay Resort in Phi Phi Island

I stayed 3 nights at Phi Phi Bakao Bay Resort in one of their luxury bungalows and had a great experience. The bungalow was clean, spacious, and very well equipped, making the stay comfortable and relaxing.

The staff were very friendly, there to help with anything I needed even just for a nice chat.
They also organised free transfer to and from the hotel, which made the arrival and departure easy.

The resort is located in a small village, which was peaceful compared to the busier part of Phi Phi. The local restaurants nearby were great.

Overall, I highly recommend this resort if you’re looking for a quiet, chilled place to stay on Phi Phi. Ignore the bad reviews, this place was amazing and great value!

Locate is within the local village and good food is just round the corner.

Very nice environment. All tourist spot is very close.

Location-wise, it's on the other side of the island, which makes booking excursions a bit inconvenient. Plus, there's a mosque nearby, so be prepared for a 5 AM wake-up call.

The owner was very kind. Right outside, there were tour desks, shops, and restaurants. We truly enjoyed the island. The owner even helped us figure out how to get to the pier for our departure. They were very helpful, thank you!

If your main goal is to explore the island, then this place should be fine.

Getting to the hotel was a bit challenging. After arriving at Tonsai Pier from Phuket mainland, we had to negotiate with a longtail boat to take us to a beach near the hotel. However, there was no jetty at that beach, so our suitcases were transferred by a small boat, and we had to walk to the beach. It was a rather unusual experience. From that beach, it was about a 15-minute walk along a flat path to the hotel, but feeling tired, we opted for a nearby motorbike taxi.

The staff were so friendly, and they send a longboat to pick you up and drop you off from the pier - free of charge + help with your bags. It was super helpful. Arrange in advance.

The chalet was clean and the aircon worked great. I preferred the larger one, as the smaller one had the aircon situated right by the bed, so it was always blowing on your face if you don’t adjust the position of the vent with your hand. Since it’s turned off when you leave, I would always forget to adjust it until I got in bed and had to get up to move it from my face.

There is a lovely beach nearby that’s breathtaking. Taking a private boat to Monkey Bay, Maya Bay, and Bamboo was amazing. I didn’t want to be with tons of people, so I went the private route. It was awesome.

This part of Phi Phi is much more chill and laid back. It’s small and everything closes early. If this vibe is what you’re after - it’s amazing. If you’re looking for crazy parties, this isn’t the place for you. I would 100% go back.

Note: the call for prayers can wake you up at sunrise, and it’s very close to the hotel. If you’re a light sleeper, it might wake you up. It didn’t bother me.
