U Rip Resort in Phi Phi Island

The hotel is in need of renovation. When I arrived, the card slot for the room key was on the floor. The front desk lady spoke to me in an arrogant manner. There were lizards in the room. The room's window makes you feel like you're in an aquarium. The breakfast was poor; there was only one type of fruit, and we had to make our own coffee. The pool pump must be broken as the water was dirty. The view, however, is beautiful. This hotel urgently needs changes.

Terrible Service & Zero Help at Check-Out

Honestly, this was the most unpleasant hotel experience ever, Ive never had this kind of issue before in other hotel, especially with the staff. You'd think people in the hospitality business would be polite and helpful, right? Wrong! This place was a total blast of rudeness.

The nightmare started when we called for a cart to the pier. The staff actually said, "NO, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE, you have to call 1 hour in advance for early check-out and the cart." I was stunned! They never told us that policy when we checked in.

I went straight to reception to clear it up and asked why this wasn't mentioned earlier. They just kept repeating, "It's our policy. The next cart is in an hour." I was panicking because my boat left in 30 minutes! I had two huge 20 kg bags—how was I supposed to walk 15–20 minutes to the pier with all that?

The worst part? They wouldn't even apologize. They just kept saying "No staff available." Meanwhile, I saw two staff guys chilling on a couch right there in their hotel uniform, and two empty carts were parked outside! I was totally drained, stressed, and overwhelmed.

When I finally realized they weren't going to lift a finger, I told them, "Fine, I'll just write a review about how unhelpful you were and how you fail to inform guests." And guess what? Instead of saying sorry, the staff snapped back, "OKAY, JUST GIVE THE REVIEW AS YOU WANT."

WOW. I work in hospitality, and we would do anything to avoid a complaint. Their attitude was unbelievable. Now I totally understand why this beautiful property only has a 3-star rating. Oh, the water from the bidets was totally smelly and (AGAIN) at breakfast, they just ask for your room number—no greetings, no smiles. So. You decide! Enjoy the worst hospitality ever!

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel did not meet our expectations at all.
The breakfast was disappointing, with the food lacking flavor and quality.
The room was not cleaned and felt very uncomfortable, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, there was no sound privacy, as we could hear everything from neighboring rooms and the hallway.
The most concerning issue was the bathroom water, which had a strong, unpleasant smell, similar to rotten eggs.
While the staff were polite, these issues significantly impacted our experience.
Honestly there are better hotels you can choose on the island
