Reviews
Next up the location, for me it was perfect. Although there is a short walk to the end of the road if not taking the shuttle if you can’t walk that then you’ll struggle with Bangkok as seriously it’s really short. Plus at the end of that street there is a cute little night market called SW1 market which is worth checking out for some tasty scran. Then you have Asok BTS not far away as well as Sukhumvit metro and once your there you have the city at your feet, so big bit of advice for anyone new to Bangkok, start using the skytrain and metro to get around, it’s quick, efficient and cheap just like me. Nana is also just a short walk away (if you know, you know lads). Also if you’re feeling lazy just get a grab and it will literally come to the hotel entrance (Grab is like the Uber of Asia and is best way to get a taxi. It’s actually so much better than Uber as well and has a brilliant TV advert if you see it).
So my only small criticism I would say is the gym is very small with very limited equipment, but then I’m not going to the gym on holiday anyway and I’m a bit of a gym bro inside (not really on the outside though sadly but we are working on that), however it’s perfectly clean and well maintained. The swimming pool on the other hand is a massive beast for Bangkok, water was a bit chilly but that makes it nice and refreshing in the hot city. They also have some sections with those jets that make it all like bubbles and stuff, which if your still a child inside like me is fun. Plenty of sun loungers as well so can easily find a place to chill, and just the surrounding of the pool area is beautiful, it’s like a little paradise in the middle of the city.
The WiFi was also proper solid, didn’t cut out at all; don’t expect super fast speeds as hotels rarely ever have this but it’s great for what you need. Quick tip in this review as well, get the Airalo app as a eSIM as its outstanding coverage all over Thailand for a great price, even when I was in Koh Lanta (I’m not even being paid for that advertisement even though I should be I feel). I feel they could invest in as a small improvement is getting a smart TV as had these a lot in Thailand (even in this poor hotel I am currently writing my review from) and they are great, however that’s not really a criticism but more just something that would step up the hotel even further. The Aircon was also spot on, kept the room nice and cool as it should, but also was in a great location not being directly above the beds, was quiet and not too much of a blow so didn’t get that classic aircon dry throat.
Now time for the all important room section. Beginning with the size, it’s very spacious, and the way they have used the space makes it feel even bigger, Kevin from Grand Designs would be proud. Now the beds are harder than you would find in Europe, however I am not criticising as this is the style in Thailand; they like a harder bed and why should they change just for Europeans it’s their country after all. And I actually found the bed super comfy with a great selection of pillows for any head. We had a room that looked out onto the swimming pool which was a nice bonus too, nothing pervy before you start thinking it, just was nice to look out over the pool.
The bathroom is beautiful, great toilet with a cracking bum squirter (don’t know the technical name for them but if you’ve been to Asia you know what I mean). Plus the shower is massive, in fact so big you can even step out of the direct line of water to smoother yourself in the shampoo provided to get all nice and scrubbed and then go back under!
The resort is clean & has the facilities you need. The buffet breakfast had great choices & was very good. Lovely pool & outdoor area. The suites are modern & have lovely decor. There wasn’t a kettle or cookware in the kitchenette, so that would be something the resort should add.
The most stand out for us was the staff, they were so friendly, helpful & professional. They made our stay enjoyable & relaxed.
Bathtub with window.
If you would like to have a stroll around the lake. You should comeback to main road first, so it's 20 min walking to get there.
The room was tired, very poorly maintained and dirty. There is no way it's a four star hotel. We complained and asked for our money back as it did not reflect any reasonable expectations of a four star. We were told we'd get the money back but they offered no written confirmation. We then moved to a much nicer hotel up the road which was only a fraction more expensive.
The next day when we complained to booking.com, they denied ever saying we could have the money back. If they had just told us no, I'd have more respect for them than lying.
We arrived at the hotel after traveling for 12 hours for a three night stay and we greeted by reception with a list of what we couldn't do, and the associated fines before even saying 'Welcome/I hope you have a good holiday'. Hardly a friendly place.
The staff mentioned that many people had complained about the rooms. Maybe management should look to do a revamp.
Tip: Check your room before paying for this!
Just for the record - their response is not sufficient. Don't offer to refund people if that's just to keep them quiet. Lying is not something any reputable hotel company would condone...
We could access the pool area, relaxing and enjoying our day, after arriving on a very early flight. It was also an oasis throughout our stay with excursions of the city in the mornings and evenings, and charging our batteries during the hottest hours of the day.
Breakfast is pretty ok, the rooms a well maintained and roomy and they offer a golf cart ride to the main road. Not very far but nice to skip the last few hundred meters. Just give them a call when you’re on your way there and they’ll send the cart.
There’s a very nice lunch place just about one or two minutes walk from the hotel (right hand side towards the main street).
Definitely recommend this place and will consider it for any future trips to Bangkok.
The best part is the tuktuk car shuttle service is 24 hrs. The dedicated app can reserve the service with quick response.
Recommend the hotel for long stay business purposes and will plan for the next staying in the future!
