The hotel forces a 2,000 Baht “refundable” deposit at check-in that was never disclosed during booking. That’s not a minor detail it’s deceptive and feels like a deliberate surprise charge.

The staff behavior was unacceptable. There was a clear bias in how Indian guests were treated, and the attitude was openly rude and hostile.

Instead of hospitality, we experienced indifference and disrespect.

The swimming pool smells disgusting because of the sewage treatment plant right next to the property. It completely destroys any chance of relaxing.

Breakfast was average at best, and even that was poorly managed. Dirty tables were left uncleared, and staff showed no urgency or professionalism.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location near Pattaya Beach and the pier to Coral Island. Everything else was a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

Checked in to Balihai Bay Residence on January 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM (local time) and it was a horrible experience right from the start.
The guest services associates were rude, unwelcoming, and unprofessional during the entire check-in process.

We were made to wait 2 hours, and instead of being honest is the rooms were not ready, they kept repeating the same false promise: “30–45 minutes.” That wasted a big chunk of our day — time we could’ve used to eat lunch or explore nearby and returned — but they chose to keep us sitting there with misleading updates.

The property itself is unpleasant. The hotel is right next to a sewage line, and the moment you step onto the balcony, the stench is unbearable. Worse, even the outdoor pool area is close to the sewage line, so you don’t even get a clean, relaxing space to unwind.

Breakfast was another mess — and honestly unacceptable. Food tags were misleading. One item was labeled “Vegan” but it contained egg. I ate it by mistake thinking it was tofu. When I raised the concern, it took forever to explain due to the language barrier, and instead of taking it seriously, the staff laughed at me among themselves. The next day, the exact same “Vegan” label was still there, unchanged. That’s not a small mistake — that’s negligence. For vegetarians/vegans, this can ruin your meal and your trust in the food entirely.

This is a tourist area — you would expect at least one or two employees who can speak or at least understand basic English, because that’s the most common language used by visiting tourists. That basic expectation is clearly not met here, and it creates confusion, delays, and disrespectful interactions.

Hospitality here is at an all-time low. When we requested help moving our luggage — 4 large bags and 4 small bags — and asked for their luggage dolly, the staff were not helpful at all. Instead of assisting, they literally pointed at the elevator and told us to take it ourselves. That’s not service. That’s laziness and disrespect

Even if this were the last hotel available in Thailand, I would never book here again. Avoid this place if you care about basic courtesy, honesty, cleanliness, and accurate food labeling.

Room was good. Breakfast options are ok ok.. reception staff were pathetic. They stops us for 15 minutes just for hair dryer “pouch”.. We explained them that we have not seen the hairdryer in pouch. We were getting late for airport but they were not ready to listen after talking to their room service staff they came to know that mistake was from there end.. But NO SORRY frm their end .. very RUDE and CARELESS behaviour of Hotel Staff.. never recommend this Hotel ..

Beds are not soft, not properly cleaned and very hard and when you asked for king size bed, they provide twin beds adjoining.

Staff are very arrogant and not good behaviour with anyone

I have been given Room with twin beds adjoining on 3rd floor, though I have given special request before 1 month about King size bed with Top floor.
On arrival, staff at reception rudely behave with me in this regards

Not a comfortable place, very bad location no transport options far off from everything for walking. The rooms are smelling, AC takes time to cool, urine smell around the property. Beds are not soft very hard, shower water is never hot it's like warm only. Staff behaviour is bad, they have very few guests & still don't respond on time. Their restaurant is closed by 8 PM which is very odd as that's normally dinner time. They don't understand English very hard to explain. They send a dish they understand & don't listen to our request. Better to call them and show them on the menu card which might take 30 to 40 mins just to order.

Worst stay of all.
Terrible service, substandard rooms, poor location, disappointing staff service.
We booked our stay for 3 days but highly unsatisfactory as everything in this hotel is just pure disappointment from staff at reception to staff in restaurant to room quality. Dont waste your vacations by staying in this hotel, much hotels are available at better locations.
