LİZBON Hotel in Izmir

By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The first room they gave us was completely unhygienic. There was hair on the bed, a wet towel left in the sink, and electrical issues. We asked to move, and they put us in a room next to an open, doorless electrical room that connects to a shared balcony.

While the second room was slightly cleaner, everything still felt incredibly cheap and poorly maintained. I even found myself drying off with a torn towel after a shower.

Honestly, I’m afraid to sleep here. If a fire breaks out, there’s no proper safety in place, and I doubt anyone here values guest wellbeing.

We had booked 2 standard rooms with sea-views and queen beds as stated in the description. On arrival, we discovered that the rooms were on the side of the property - one overlooking metal extraction chimneys from a restaurant and a Bike shop sign. The other room was towards the rear of the property with a view of a roof and chimney. We were told that the standard rooms had NO sea view and that ******* had provided the wrong information!!! As the hotel was full due to us and other people attending a local wedding we had nowhere else to go. The owner did not want to understand or engage with us and walked away. On arriving to our room, we found the air-con NOT working and the temperature well into the high 30's degC. The in-room safe was unable to lock away our valuables. The fridge had not been turned on and the water inside was warm. The bed was NOT a queen bed as advertised - just a double. There was no vanity light over the sink in the bathroom - just bare cables (my wife was unable to do her make-up). There were hairs around the toilet seat and splashes of something greasy on the shower-glass and the bathroom door inside and out. The floors had NOT been swept and it was generally dirty. The bath-towels smelt musty. The only benefit of this hotel was that we were able to park the car off-road. All-in-all this was a very disappointing experience for us and our friend. ******* needs to contact the hotel and get explicit pictures/information for each and every room category.
