Union Hotel Port in Istanbul

- Excellent location for public transport
Tram, buses, Kabatas ferry terminal were only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. 15 minute walk to Dolmabahçe Palace, and 30+ mins walk to Galata bridge

- Service and cleanliness was fantastic!
All the reception staff were fluent in English and other languages. I especially appreciated the heartwarming service from Sam, Ardalan and Mia. They were all friendly, helpful, and thoughtful, checking in with guests regularly. It created a very welcoming community for all travelers to gather.

- Clean and spacious rooms
Housekeeping came every day to clean (and tidy) the rooms. 3+ electrical sockets in my room for charging. Plenty of storage space, cabinets, shelving etc. I've stayed in many hotels and this one bedroom was larger than most. Could imagine someone staying here for 2 - 3 weeks if needed.

- Cats
The hotel staff take good care of the cats on this street, leading to many strays (at least 6) who can regularly be found relaxing around the property. Many of the cats are friendly, clean, and well behaved, so I enjoyed petting them every night!

- Being on the first floor (above the lobby) meant my room could sometimes pick up street noise or other guests. But generally the area was quiet after 1am, and very safe.

- If you are arriving from Istanbul airport, I recommend taking a taxi to the hotel instead of public transport. It requires 2 - 3 metro and bus changes from the airport, and not convenient if you are carrying a large luggage uphill (as the hotel is situated in an alley).

What a great place to stay in. Just 2 mins to the tram station that takes you to all the main tourist places. Cozy room but equipped with all the necessities. The main aspect for us were the people who run this hotel - special thanks to Sam for all the banter and looking after us so well. Highly recommend!

Only stayed for 1 night prior to our cruise. Hotel was great staff was awesome. We walked in & met with sam amazing man welcomed us with some tea and coffee. Upgraded our room which was perfect. Sam helped us though out our stay with giving us directions to must see places like restaurants and places to see. Helped us with breakfast in the morning which was amazing food. It was great meeting sam & if ever to visit again i would choose this hotel also great location. Also hotel had someone pick us up at airport which was very convenient

It'a not the fancy kind of hotel. But I would choose it again next time I visit istanbul.
Room is comfortable and clean. Staff are all kind and big genuine smile and always ready to help.
Shout out to Ardlan who carried my 20kg luggage to the 4th floor and still insisted to introduce the room and services to me. Impressive. Sam is always cheerful and warm. Lovely stay in Istanbul, highly recommend.

The property was in excellent condition. Clean, near lots of restaurants. Sam is the greatest employee and is very helpful for any suggestions or requirements needed in Istanbul.

We had a lovely week at Union Hotel Port Istanbul.
The location is excellent, close to public transport, and a 10 minute walk to Taksim Square. Despite the central location, the hotel is a bit hidden, so it is quiet inside the rooms.
Like everyone else writes, we found the staff to be very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Sam in particular was like a family member, he went far beyond what was his job to make us feel comfortable, and also Ardalan, who among other things, made sure to upgrade our room so we could stay on the same floor as our children.
We have travelled a lot, but we have never met a hotel staff like this, they seemed genuinely interested in our having the best stay.
The hotel is absolutely perfect, the rooms are clean and there is plenty of pressure in the bath water. Bed linen and towels are changed every day. There is a small fridge inside the rooms, where free water is filled.
We loved our stay and would recommend it to everyone.

The Room/bathroom was clean, air conditioning was there but preferred open windows, great location for transport; easy access to town, great place for breakfast Just a minute away. If you prefer Starbucks / it’s 3 min away too. Best of all the stuff is so nice and friendly and helpful, you couldn’t ask for more!

This hotel is all about its amazing staff. They all go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and are so knowledgable and helpful in planning your day. They love spending time with you over a coffee any time of the day. The location is perfect for walking and catching various forms of tranportation. Dont judge this hotel by your first impressions...you walk down an alley to get to it.

Absolutely incredible hotel. It’s so convenient to the cruise port, walkable to bridge to mosques. But what tops this hotel is the service. The staff are amazing, so nice, friendly, accommodating, they make you feel like family. Sam was the nicest, sweetest man and made us feel like the hotel was like home. They have a cute little colony of cats they take care of which was so lovely. This hotel is too notch. Do not hesitate to book this wonderful place.

All staff are very friendly and accommodating, specially Sam. The room is spacious and very clean. Near the Bosphorus River. Close to Taksim and Galata Port. A two-minute walk to the train and bus station. I really recommend this place.
