Serai Hotel in Istanbul

The main advantage of this hotel is the wonderful reception staff. They help with any problems, offer assistance, and are incredibly cheerful. Thank you so much!
The rooms are beautiful and stylish, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathrooms are excellent, and the furniture is beautiful and new (the hotel recently underwent a complete renovation).
A big bonus of this hotel is breakfast on the panoramic terrace on the 7th floor, with a stunning view. In the summer, the terrace is completely open; in bad weather, the staff rolls up the windows and closes the retractable roof.
Less than 10 minutes' walk from the T1 tram line.
We are very happy we chose this hotel. We highly recommend it!

Simply a perfect stay! The hotel is well maintained, welcoming, and ideally located. Breakfast is good, plentiful, and made with fresh, high-quality products to suit all tastes. A special thanks to Berat and Emre , professional, attentive, and always with a smile. They were incredibly helpful and always ready to assist us , they gave us great advice on how to get around, what to see, and where to eat.
They made our experience even more enjoyable with their kindness and care. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to feel at home while being pampered like on a true vacation!

Serai is a nice place to stay and very close to almost all the attractions in Istanbul. Reception and especially Emre was very helpful and friendly, he gave us a lot of instructions which we needed.
The rooms however are small but clean, room service doesn’t clean the room but rather make up the beds and change towels.

We had the chance to stay here for one night and the place is exactly for its worth. The room prices are on the higher cheap side. The hotel is small, and such are the rooms with no space to maneuver however, it was clean and looks exactly as they showed in their picture. They have wifi and hot water as well as AC for cooling and heating. I would say that it is good for short stays and will fulfill the basic needs if it is used to sleep only and not hangout since most of the time you will be out.

The first day, we had an issue because the shower in the room didn't work. Also, the rooms are poorly maintained in matter of cleaning, we wash ventilation cover ourselves. However, the biggest problem of the hotel is poor management, who always push employers to fix the problem and face unsatisfied customers. Otherwise, people working at reception are nice and polite. After complaining, the room was much better cleaned.
The good side of the hotel is very clean linen, good position and comfortable rooms.

We are about yo check out and enjoying a lively included breakfast, every staff member has been really friendly and willing to help patiently with directions etc. I found the area a bit intimidating at first but after the first night I was fine , it’s so busy . Deniz was so helpful. I would definately come again . X
Ps diagonally across the road is a baklava shop selling it for about 70% cheaper than on the high street, tastes just the same and pomegranate juice out the front for 100 lira (about $4-5 aus) really good quality x

PROS

The location is excellent (around 5 mins to walk to the tramway, 10 mins to Metro), you have groceries shops around, restaurants and other clothes and souvenirs shops. The room was clean: towels were changed everyday; toiletries, water, coffee and tea were refilled if emptied. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay: refrigerator, hair dryer, clean linens, AC and MOST IMPORTANT for Istanbul: soundproof windows and walls. Also, the hotel has an elevator and the hotel staff was really friendly.

CONS

Not really something to complain about, but I would have appreciated if the everyday cleaning paid more attention to floors. The breakfast was a little monotonous (but the ingredients were fresh and alltogether provided all you need for a good start of the day). Also, something the room would need for a better sleep: curtains that cover the whole window, not just a part of it.

Delayed review- stayed in August 2023 for 3 nights. family of 3 (mom , dad & teen son). We stayed on the top floor deluxe/ terrace room for 3 nights. We ENJOYED our stay!
The AC/ cooling was great. Bed was comfortable. The Toiletries offered were very generous! Thank you! There is a small fridge in the cabinets of the room entry area. It was a little small for us, but we knew this beforehand. We stayed at Serai for the location! It’s SUPER close to everything..esp Tram beyazit- to cemberlatis- to sultanahmet is about 4-5 min. Or maybe a 12 min walk. 2 small markets one-2 blocks up to grab some drinks & snacks for the room.
They offered a convertible chair- single sofa bed. I slept on it bc my son is so tall. Honestly, i slept great. The duvet & sheets were nice a clean & of good quality.
The terrace was a great place to enjoy the mornings & evenings. There were 2 chairs and a small table.
The Serai hotel was VERY well priced. Great location. We’ve been to Istanbul 4 times.
The bathroom was clean & shower/water temp-pressure = all good. Staff were always welcoming and nice.
The only somewhat negative thing would be some noticeable water damage near terrace door-windows and ceiling. The hotel hallways carpet- walls may need some more frequent “deep cleans” or maintenance (wall scuffs & minor carpet stains). I know w so much foot traffic esp w suitcases it’s hard. But possibly use some type of tile or protector on walls to prevent-or touch up the paint.
