I went alone and took the airport bus from Istanbul Airport to the hotel, which was very convenient and affordable. It was about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop. The hotel reception was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. The slippers would have been even better if they were of higher quality, but I brought my own 😄. It's close to the subway, so getting around is very convenient.

This is our second time staying at the Side Hotel. Everything is wonderful. The reception staff is very polite and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The facilities are relatively basic, but if you're not demanding and spend most of your weekdays out and about, and only sleep at night, this is a great choice. The breakfast is good.

Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are clean and the beds comfortable. We chose it because of the location (walking distance to Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet Mosque). Apart from the constant noise of the generator during the night due to power cuts, we did not experience any problems. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and compact. The front desk service was excellent, they spoke a little Chinese, and the location was excellent, with Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Old Palace, and the core area of the scenic area just outside.

I stayed in this hotel for several days in Istanbul. The owner and customer service were very enthusiastic. They upgraded our room and took special care of the room. The top floor of the hotel is the restaurant for breakfast. I really like the breakfast here. Although it is the same food every day, it still feels very good. The interior of the hotel is also very Turkish style. The bedding and bathroom are very clean. The most important thing is that this hotel is in the city center, very close to important attractions, convenient for travel, no need to take a car, you can go to these attractions on foot. If I have the opportunity to go to Istanbul, I will stay in this hotel again. I will also recommend it to my friends.

The hotel is in a good location, and the attractions are within walking distance. Because it is an old building, the hotel room is small and there is no elevator, but it is still relatively clean. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic and worth recommending

Fantastic location in Sultanahmet - a stones throw from the Topkapi Palace and mosques. For a short stay and easy walking, Side Hotel was a great choice. The team there were so nice and helpful - lugging my v heavy bag up the stairs was a kind gesture! Rooms were simple and comfortable, and since most time was spent exploring, they serve the purpose.

Horrible, Dirty, Moldy Room PLUS Creepy Manager -- AVOID!!

This was my third and FINAL stay at Hotel Ida, and things have gone horribly downhill. It is true that it was a simple, "you get what you pay for" place to stay. However, the prior staff were kind and attentive, my room was always clean, though shabby, and I really had NO complaints.

However, the prior staff have all been removed. The new manager Soner is a creepy guy who wasted no opportunity to put his hands on me inappropriately, including inappropriate hugs, attempts to squeeze my breasts, to the point of trying repeatedly to draw my hands to his crotch! He used his own key to enter my room both while I was in there (thank heavens I was dressed) AND to go in at least three times while I was gone from the hotel.

The visit started badly when the airport pickup I'd arranged and had confirmed via email was not at the airport when I arrived. I ended up having to take a taxi at extortion rates (50 euro rather than the 25 euro for the arranged ride), and I finally got to the hotel an hour and a half past when I'd made arrangements to meet friends for dinner.

When I arrived at the hotel, Soner said I didn't have a reservation and pointed out my reservation for the following weekend on his booking screen.

I told him I had reservations for two weekends in a row, and showed him the email thread with BOTH sets of confirmations, where he himself had confirmed both dates and both airport pickups, yet he still kept insisting I'd made some mistake :-/

He said he had a room for Friday night, but the hotel was booked full for Saturday night; however if I was willing to stay my second night in the room with a "technical problem" they'd give me that night for free. By this time it was nearly 9pm, and I had few options to find another place, so I took the deal.

Friday night's room was as expected, shabby, but also less clean than their rooms had been before. The sheets were clean though, so I just discarded the blanket and collapsed.

The next day, he had me move into the other room -- it was dirty, used linens on the bed and in the bathroom, and the bed and floors were covered with ants. The very sweet house cleaning man said he'd do his best with the ants, and would put clean sheets on the bed and leave fresh towels for me. So I left my suitcase in the room and went out to explore Istanbul. I waited until late to return, and was really put off by a deeper exploration of the room :-/

The ceiling was covered with mold. Soner's personal clothing items were in the armoir, his bathing sponge and soap in the shower, etc. The shower was just slimy. The toilet seat was up and ... well... gross. The ants were back.

The story gets worse and more creepy and gross, but really -- just avoid it. I ended up sitting on the edge of the bed all night reading a book, to avoid laying down in the bed with the ants, with one ear cocked to hear if he was coming down the stairs again ... I won't be back.

COME DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY! Super fun place if you're looking for a sparklers-DJ-dancing-on-a-rooftop vibe. We went late night for some drinks and caught a PARTY instead. If nightclubs are your scene, there's no better way to do it than here because you also have the best view of the blue mosque.

It was a fantastic experience with wonderful hospitality! We ordered drinks and food, and afterward, they generously brought us tea and some sweets on the house. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious. if I visit Istanbul again, I’d definitely come back here. Also, such an amazing view.

I can only give all the praise for the Hotel and the employees. The hotel is in a great location where everything is available to you. From the moment we arrived, the employees welcomed us very warmly and helped us with our luggage. They were happy to help us with any information we needed. The rooms are tidy and are cleaned every morning. I even received a gift for my birthday that was waiting for me in the room to my wonderful surprise. My rating is 10. All recommendations from the bottom of my heart. I can very happily recommend this hotel. Thank you and see you next time. Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina
