Akkus Hotel in Istanbul

This hotel is centrally located in the aksaray/Fatih district, at a little distance from the main transport means (Metro, tram, buses, Marmaray). If you are coming from airport, you can reach it either by Havaist (Aksaray line) or by M11 from airport to Gayreteppe and M2 to Yenikapi. I spent 9 nights at the hotel in a fairly comfortable room. The staff was very much responsive and amicable. The room was large enough for a single occupation. It was cleaned daily and towels and other amenities were supplied every day. There is a minibar to keep your water or juices fresh. The only remarks about the room were: (i) very small tv set (ii)furniture was old (iii) mattresses and beds need to be urgently replaced. The hotel offers free breakfast: coffee or tea, white cheese, boiled eggs, marmrelade, green salad, salami and black olives. Apparently, many travellers wrote reviews criticising the absence of refurbishment. It seems that the hotel owners are not willing to spend any money. They are even thinking to stop offering free breakfast

Quite good if you are looking for a budget hotel in the city center, very close to yenikapı Metro and Aksaray tramway station as well (around 300 meters each).
The owner and the staff are very helpful.

I came by bus from Batumi, Georgia, and chose this hotel because it was close to my arrival point, Aksaray. It is actually very close to the bus station.
It is also conveniently located for visiting tourist spots in Istanbul. You can get anywhere using public transportation.
The hotel facilities are also clean.
Shampoo and body soap are provided.
I couldn't find any slippers, so it might be better to bring your own.
I was able to eat a lot of bread for breakfast.
The owner was very kind.

Clean hotel, well-equipped room, secure, there is everything around, no need for means of transport, in the strategic center location. Varied breakfast and free coffee and tea all day long. Impeccable staff especially Ms. Mounira the owner, super kind, always available to guide us, as a family. I will come back soon and highly recommend for my friends and dear ones. Istanbul is a love❤️
