HORRIFYING. NEVER BOOK. Complete scam, probably dangerous people. The hotel doesn't exist anymore, look at the pictures I took. They are working on it, it can't have any customers right now. But still, they take reservations, because they are here to scam you and rob you.

When we arrived at the address, we saw people moving stuff out of the pink building. We asked where was the Buhara Hotel, they acted af is they didn't know. On old pictures of the hotel, we see it's the exact pink building. But still, they took us to a supermarket named Buhara Market. The boss of the supermarket acted as if he was helping us, he called someone that didn't answer, and said he would take our reservation form. I didn't know what to do. I gave it to him, thinking the problem was solved.

Then, he asked a kid to bring us to some random building, with a room on the second floor. The room itself seemed ok, but then I asked the boy what was going on. He pretended the hotel had a different name now, a bunch of lies. That room wasn't a hotel, it was just a bedroom upstairs. I got scared for our safety, left with no explanation. I got convinced they would try to charge us extra money later. Anything could have been possible, since Istanbul is an incredibly scammy place. I don't know why they were all acting as if they didn't know the Buhara Hotel, because they obviously did, and it's just creepy. Why don't you say "Sorry, the hotel is on maintenance, we will refund you or find you a new hotel" ? Why hiding your intentions and be all sketchy?

The worst is that the company where I booked the hotel still struggles to get me a refund, because these scammers refuse to refund me, and the Istanbul team that works with the travel company defends them. These people are corrupted crooks. The Buhara Hotel is not the hotel you see on old pictures of 2016. It's gone. Please be safe and don't book that place.

I usually do not give negative reviews, but I have made this an exception. There is no hotel called Buhara. The address given in the booking will take you near a shop called Buhara. Once you talk to the shop owner he will call someone who will take you to a decrepit building with no escalator.

Once you carry your luggage to second or thid level through the stairs, you will be greeted by a room which is no way related to the published photos.

It's a scam!

Not what we expected, travel advice included
Don't really know where to start with this one, £16 a room per night, clean cheap and central so we can't complain.

However, it's not the hotel from the pictures, so this is advice for any future visitors as we'd never have found it without our taxi driver who also struggled. There is no reception, you have to go and pick up the keys from the Buhara mini-mart at the end of the road, they'll then take you past the pictured hotel (looks closed down) to an unsigned door and up to the rooms. In ours there was a double and 2 single beds, washing machine, kettle, microwave, etc. They were clean and comfy. The advertised communal coffee area wasn't there, however there are plenty of cafe's local.

It's only a 5 minute walk to Sultanahmet Square with the Blue Mosque etc, however it's all up a very steep hill so if you have mobility issues, take that into account.

There is no Buhara Hotel. Property is abandoned and has been for a while. I was put in Buhara Apartments.
There is NO reception , never mind 24 hours .Google maps led me to empty building. There was no breakfast that I had paid for, and if there was Wi-Fi there was no one to give me password. This is disgraceful that Buhara Hotel is still being advertised on *******.
I will be seeking recompense for my fraudulent stay.

The location in Google Maps is in one place, the hotel itself is in another, a little further away. I had to call the administrator to escort me to my room. The room is clean and large, but smells of smoke. The room was equipped with a washing machine, electric stove and oven, as well as a refrigerator. Unfortunately, there was no toilet paper and a kettle, as well as forks and spoons, while there were plates and glasses. Overall, everything is very good.

Location was good, TV was not working TV remote was not working either, there was water all over the floor from the defrosted fridge, we told them but they didn’t clean so the rug soaked it up, there were no power points near any of the beds, had to do everything by the sink because that’s where power point was, we told them many times that there were no toilet paper but that was ignored as well. The view out the window was supposed to be city view but all you could see was a rundown house full of rubbish

Pros: Good location - 10-15 minutes walk to Sultanahmet Square. Most of the sights of the old city can be reached on foot, the Galata Tower and the Beyoğlu area can, in principle, also be reached on foot or by tram. Quite quiet - the street is narrow, there is no traffic on it. The bed is normal, there is hot water and a roof over your head. Breakfast - you shouldn't expect much, but I had enough to eat. Only instant coffee. There is wi-fi. Cons: Musty smell in the room, sewer smell in the bathroom. Lack of ventilation in the bathroom, mold. Not very clean. The furniture and fixtures are old and falling apart. No kettle in the room. The TV didn't work. Positive reviews, in my opinion, are written by the owner and his employees and acquaintances.

We are exploring our country with a few friends. Exploring different places, different cultures, different histories is one of our common hobbies. I went and visited. My friends and I were very pleased. If we come back, it is one of the places we will choose.
24.09.2023 Guest
We went with my friends, the friend who welcomed us welcomed us in a warm and friendly manner, as if we had known each other before, and at that moment, all my prejudices were replaced by trust and a fun stay.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The service was impeccable, the rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of.

The location was perfect, the amenities were top-notch, and the overall atmosphere was both relaxing and luxurious. I can confidently say this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. Highly recommended – I will definitely be coming back!

I stayed at this hotel with my father for 7 days. The location is impeccable. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the hippodrome and it was really worth it. The breakfast was also very good and varied and the view was just wonderful. But the best part of this hotel was its kind, professional and friendly staff. Everyone, from the ladies who prepared breakfast, to the house keepers, to the receptionists, were all extremely warm and friendly. Mr. Mesut, the manager was incredibly helpful and gave us a lot of good guidance on what to do and see. He was really polite, kind nad professional. I can't say enough about how welcome him and his team made us feel. Next time we are in Istanbul, we will do our best to book a room with them again. 5 stars.

Very safe hotel , with a great location, i was very comfortable living in it because its beside a police station.

Negatives :
- elevator is too small , it can take 3 maximum without the bags
- breakfast is not varied, repeated , everyday the same food, with a very very small changes
- food is too expensive, i bought a Sandwich for 600TL

Positives :
- Ali is a great guy , helped me a lot , i hope for him a good day
- staff is very cooperative and friendly thanks to them
- the hotel takes the customer reviews seriously

Best 7 days in Istanbul, thanks to 1207 hotel.
