If I could give a 3.5 stars, I would...
Undeniably the hotel is in a great location, with a supermarket just up the hill, easy access to the centre, public transport, and all the attractions.
The rooftop has an amazing view and is a great place to watch sunset and has the most adorable cat who hangs out up there.
However...the hotel itself is a bit tired and could definitely do with a lift. The rooms are all a bit old, the mattresses and pillows lumpy, and both bathrooms we had leaked from either the tap, shower, or both. We actually had to move rooms because our basement room's shower flooded so badly.
The housekeeping is also wildly inconsistent. Some days you'd get 3 towels each, sometimes only one, and not every day they'd clean your room. We weren't fussed but I'm sure they would if you asked.
That being said, for the price point, it's absolutely fine. Paying £26 a night (August 2025) for a hotel in such a prime location is fantastic, and as me and my partner are backpacking currently, it was certainly worth it for us. The staff were incredibly friendly and always helped if we needed something and always had a smile ready for us.
Overall I'd say this place is good for what it is, but definitely not a luxury experience if you're after one.

Due to our own carelessness, we checked into an economy room without a window. I was shocked that rooms like this exist! The room was absolutely tiny. A bed and a closet, that's all. The TV was broken. Housekeeping was poor from the start. So be careful when checking in to avoid such disappointment.

I booked a room for one night and arrived about an hour after booking, only to be told my room wasn’t available. The staff said they’d arranged a room for me at a nearby hotel. When I got to the second location, I was told that my original room was in the basement (which wasn’t mentioned or shown in the listing photos), and that this new room was an “upgrade.” The man hinted I should give extra money to the second hotel for helping me out, but I had already paid and declined.
The new room was clean, but lacked basic amenities. There was a kettle, but no cups, tea, coffee, etc. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, and shower gel, but no towels. I went downstairs late at night to ask for towels and was told someone would bring them up, but no one ever did.
In the morning, I checked out. The original staff member who spoke English wasn't there, and the person at the front desk couldn’t understand me, so I couldn’t explain any of the issues.
Overall, I guess this is what you get for the price I paid, but the lack of transparency and poor communication made it a frustrating experience.

The high-end room is worth the 3 star rating. Water pressure in the shower is very good. Beds are comfortable, but may suit shorter people best. Great view of the bosphorus straight through the French door balcony window.

Absolutely loved my stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond. The entire place was spotless – Everything was clean and well taken care of.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! I originally booked a room without windows, but the staff kindly upgraded me for free to a room with a Bosphorus view — which was absolutely stunning. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and felt safe. Great location for exploring Istanbul on foot. Highly recommend!

We booked the hotel via the tourist company. This company didn’t check the reviews so we ended up with Theodian hotel. The room we booked was smaller than they show in images, with no windows and bad smell. They changed us to standard room for higher price which also had broken toilet and strange windows. The only good thing was the Bosphorus view. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel if you plan to stay long.

For the money paid I was very very happy with the quality of the room. The staff was very friendly and ready to help around the hour (24 hours reception). I would come again and I would recommend the accommodation to everyone. Easy access to all the important attractions in Istanbul. Rooftop terrace too.

!!!!!!!!!SCAMMM!!!!!!!!.The hotel is a scam,i had a reservation for 3-6 march 2025 don't believe the photos our room was two levels under the ground.It was dirty and pretty small if you are claustrophobic please don't go.The pillow had hairs from previous reservations

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The service was impeccable, the rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of.
The location was perfect, the amenities were top-notch, and the overall atmosphere was both relaxing and luxurious. I can confidently say this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. Highly recommended – I will definitely be coming back!

I stayed at this hotel with my father for 7 days. The location is impeccable. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the hippodrome and it was really worth it. The breakfast was also very good and varied and the view was just wonderful. But the best part of this hotel was its kind, professional and friendly staff. Everyone, from the ladies who prepared breakfast, to the house keepers, to the receptionists, were all extremely warm and friendly. Mr. Mesut, the manager was incredibly helpful and gave us a lot of good guidance on what to do and see. He was really polite, kind nad professional. I can't say enough about how welcome him and his team made us feel. Next time we are in Istanbul, we will do our best to book a room with them again. 5 stars.

small and nice hotel very central, easy to get around in every part of the city. the staff is polite and kind I was in Istanbul for work and a bit of vacation I managed to do both without problems. they recommended me a place not very touristy and very Turkish and I was able to play a bit.. thank

Very safe hotel , with a great location, i was very comfortable living in it because its beside a police station.
Negatives :
- elevator is too small , it can take 3 maximum without the bags
- breakfast is not varied, repeated , everyday the same food, with a very very small changes
- food is too expensive, i bought a Sandwich for 600TL
Positives :
- Ali is a great guy , helped me a lot , i hope for him a good day
- staff is very cooperative and friendly thanks to them
- the hotel takes the customer reviews seriously

What can I say about this hotel, pure hospitality and a must stay when your in Istanbul. Take it from me the service is special especially Mehmut and Sena who always greet you and take care of you whenever you need. Sena especially well done! The breakfast is fresh whenever you need no matter what time you get up. If you need a top up a fresh portion it will be made for you.
