Sadly TV is just a decorative item, AC not working and plumbing is a disaster. Most important and painful thing is the insect.

Very nice place to stay. Affordable, clean, warm, charming staff, nice breakfast and good wi-fi speed.
This is the most horrible hostel/hotel if been to!
The rooms are dirty, they stink (cigarettes), hospitality is the only thing they have.
But for the price its ok. But there is no view, not a good breakfast and not a good working airco.

Very nice place to stay! Affordable, nice breakfast included and friendly staff. If you like to get involved with the locals and get rid of "touristic areas" this is the right place for you. It is just a few blocks from the main attractions.
Heater didn’t work, fridge didn’t work, and when I asked for house keeping, the owner (Amir) replied, “this is not a five star hotel, you get towels changed only once for your entire stay”. - That was the most pathetic answer I have ever heard from a hotel. The reception is always empty, you have too call the owner for anything. It is the most fake hotel I’ve ever stayed.
On the last day the owner changed our room, so we had to move for absolutely no reason.

Great welcome upon arrival, was also given a rundown of places of interest in Istanbul before being shown to my room. The walls are quite thin and it was therefore quite easy to hear conversations through them. Not ideal if you're handi-capable as the hotel is based at the bottom of several steep hills and all the rooms are accessed by stairs. Would happily stay there again if going back for another short trip; not the best ever but very nice and welcoming, aka cheap and cheerful.
