Friendly and helpful staff mentioned positively in several reviews Cleanliness generally acceptable with daily housekeeping noted Good value for price, with affordable rates and decent food variety for some guests Pool area offers free water aerobics, water polo, darts, and some evening entertainment Children’s facilities include a club, playground, and paid nanny services Economy rooms lack natural light and fresh air, with windows facing dark corridors Noise issues from road traffic and nearby machinery disturbed some guests’ sleep Limited sunbeds by the pool that get occupied early, with towels left to reserve spots Wi-Fi is only free in the lobby and often slow or unreliable; other areas require paid access Food options often cater more to German, Dutch, and Russian tastes rather than English preferences Small pool area relative to hotel size and no showers at the beach Reports of unhelpful front desk staff and some issues with room maintenance Bar service ends sharply at 11pm with no drinks available until morning Entertainment sometimes perceived as German-focused and limited in variety

Description

Side Town Hotel is a 4-star property built in 2007 and renovated in 2016, offering 211 rooms across an 8-floor building. It features Economy, Standard Double rooms with land or sea views. The hotel’s territory includes one outdoor pool, one indoor pool, a children's pool, and a water slide, although the slide is reported occasionally closed. Guests can enjoy four bars, one main buffet restaurant, and several leisure options like a free sauna, Turkish bath, gym, and beach volleyball. The private sandy beach lies 350 meters away, with free sunbeds and umbrellas; towels require a deposit. Conference facilities accommodate 50 to 150 guests. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby only. Family travelers have access to a kids’ club and paid nanny services. Some rooms, especially Economy ones, lack natural light and balconies, which has caused complaints. The hotel aims at budget-conscious guests seeking a quiet and simple stay rather than luxury.

Location

Side Town Hotel is located in Selimiye Mahallesi on İnönü Boulevard in Side, Turkey. It is 52 km from Antalya Airport (AYT). The hotel’s private sandy beach is just 350 meters away, separated from the hotel by a road and promenade. Nearby dining options include Kayı Restoran at 70 meters, Novi Restaurant of Scandinavia at 187 meters, and Wiellies Bar Restaurant at 294 meters. The hotel’s position on a hill means the reception is on a higher level than the pool and restaurant area. Shops are conveniently located right outside the hotel.

Tips

  • Avoid booking Economy rooms if you prefer natural light and fresh air, as these rooms have windows facing interior corridors.
  • Arrive early at the pool area to secure a sunbed, since they fill up quickly and towels left on beds may reserve spots unfairly.
  • Bring your own towels for the beach or be prepared to pay a deposit for towels provided by the hotel.

There was a loud noise coming from some kind of machine in the neighboring building in the room. It was impossible to sleep. It felt like I was in a factory . First night slept in the lobby because the staff didn't want to change rooms. A ruined vacation. You wouldn't even dream of something like this.

This hotel is the worst place for a holiday! In all our years of holidaying abroad this is the worst hotel any of us have ever stayed! If you still decide to book this place please make sure you don't book "economy" or "promotional" rooms. These appear to be the ones that are automatically allocated as a first choice when booking with Love holidays and Sunshine. These rooms are abysmal! They are underground and don't have a balcony or a window that opens to the outside. The only window opens out into the pitch black corridor so the curtains have to be pulled constantly otherwise everyone passing can see in! These rooms are like dungeons!. No fresh air, no daylight and nowhere to dry your swimwear or towels. A tv is advertised but there are no English speaking channels. The shower is over the bath and is very high to step up into and then to step out of, so if you're disabled or have restricted movement ( or even just short, 5'5" and under) it can be very, very awkward and dangerous. We had a disabled person in our party and asked for a room change for them. The reception staff were the most unhelpful I've ever come across and lied to us ( a blonde woman and a little bald headed man). We were told there were no rooms within the entire hotel that had walk in showers.....this was a blatant lie as I found out from an English couple a week later, as their room had a walk in shower!!!! The restaurant food initially looked okay but when we tried to find a meal that was edible we found that the food was more for Germans, Dutch and Russians. Really odd foods - spinach, potato croquettes, chips, cauliflower cheese and Brussels sprouts. All for breakfast and from the nights before dinner!!!!!! The best thing about the restaurant was the lady at breakfast cooking fresh omelettes or fried eggs. In fact, it was hard to find a decent meal at anytime in the restaurant so we eat out, which really defeats the object of being all inclusive. Drinks at the bar stopped at 11pm sharp and included the coffee/tea machines being turned off at this time too. So no drinks available until the next morning when the bar reopened and the machines were turned back on. If you are a Sun worshipper this hotel is not for you. You will struggle to get a sunbed in the sun as at least half of the pool and bed area is in the shade for most of the day. If you are lucky enough to be on a bed that is in the sun in the afternoon, be aware that you will get chucked off at 5pm sharp every day. You can opt to go down to their little bit of beach which is very narrow and has you packed in like sardines. Which also means you are fighting to get Sun as everyone elses umbrellas shade you. This is not a family hotel as there is nothing here for children. Even the water slide that is advertised is permanently closed. I don't understand why any UK holiday company would advertise this hotel for the English as it's quite apparent the hotel staff at Sun beach hill don't like the English! L

I have had a totally different experience with many of these reviews I did have an issue with my room on arrival as it wasn’t what I had booked but it was nearly 21.00 when I arrived This was sorted first thing next morning and I have a decent room overlooking the pool, can’t see the sea but I doubt many rooms see much of the sea. The staff so far have been very nice and helpful. Stories about food in these reviews, I would say’s are unfounded, there have been loads of choices for mains and salads and usual holiday fare with deserts, beautiful to look at but no great flavours, I can’t fault the hotel for that. I’m in Turkey and don’t want sausage egg ‘n chips. I have only met one other Brit but so what? Everyone is pleasant and cheerful as far as I can see. I definitely would not book economy room but if you tried to save a few bob by taking one, then live with it. I’m enjoying my stay and probably it is short of a four star rating but I’m happy with my choice of hotel however the same cannot be said for Loveholidays I found them most unhelpful and have excuses for every shortfall

I was at this hotel with my partner for 10 days on arrival i was allocated room 332 and it was small and out dated also there was a window but went to open as there was no fresh air and stuffy it looked into the corridor I went to reception to ask politely if I could move rooms and willing to pay this went on for 5 days but give up at the end and carried on with my holiday . The food was not the best and did not cater for the English to me the did not look after the English as they did for other countries the drinks where ok it the coffee and tea machine went off at 23.00 and u had to buy after this u where only allowed in the pool till 17.00 staff where great except the odd one over all I would not go back and would not recommend to my friends and family

We booked this hotel as a last minute getaway, very disappointed with the room as we booked economy not knowing it had no natural light or a balcony. To be fair the room was tidy and the cleaning lady was very pleasant as were all the staff except the entertainment guy who only catered for Germans. The omelette lady was brilliant working long hours, always had a smile on her face all in all was a relaxing stay but the hotel could do with a touch of paint and a new carpet, you get what you pay for I suppose.

Some of the staff are very rude
They do not change the sheets even when asked
Damage items in the room, promised to be repaired but never happened.
The guys with the jet-sky are very rude and they steal always the timing which we paid

We arrived at this hotel with hope of a good time to be very let down. we were shown to a room very run down with damp in the cupboard, safe unattached to anything sitting loose on top of drawers. view on the balcony was of a stained wall. as acording to reception this was an upgraded room shower was over bath that you had to step three feet to access. we had to report the breakdown of toilet at 4.A.M 9 am then 1pm before any action was taken the bidet would not turn off all this time. this in a country that has a water shortage was waste of water 9hrs running. then there was the staple food of spaghetti with a tomato sauce all vegs overcooked and mushy.pool small for size of hotel very few sun beds though staff seemed vert friendly they were the only nice part of this crap hotel , carpets in the corridor stained very small pol bar and lobby bar for an all inclusive only three local spirits on offer. inter net to be paid on each device that you use and its a very slo HA HA HA w allow they say it is fast speed. HA HA HA very bitty drops out a lot.

We visit Side regularly but decided to book another last minute trip for myself and my daughter in August. I wasn't sure what to expect as the price was really good but I must say it was a very nice hotel indeed. It is built on a hill, so the front of the hotel/reception area is on a higher level than the pool and restaurant area. The room was great...no complaints whatsoever from us and the maid came every day...she was lovely. We paid for a pool/side sea view and I am very pleased we did as the view was superb. The restaurant and bar staff were all so friendly and available if you needed anything. Unfortunately I did not get their names but a special shout out to the man who works in the restaurant (early 30s) who brought us coffee, drinks and was genuinely nice. Also the main barman with the glasses, he was really nice and you can tell he really enjoys his job! Also the young waiter who usually works around by the tables and not behind the bar ... Lovely young man. The pool area is clean and every day except Sunday there is water aerobics, water polo and darts. Evening entertainment is not every night, but there is a nice balance between louder evenings and quiet evenings. The hotel disco generally opens around 11.30pm a couple of nights each week ..this was great too! Location is good ...shops out the front and beach out the back. For a smaller hotel, this was great. We will definitely return. The only thing I would say is maybe a few more sunbeds by the pool...there is room for another row I'm sure! Thanks to all the staff for a lovely holiday!

Why the negative reviews???? This hotel and its brilliant staff are gems.although limited to very few brits we were treated with laughs, fun and respect from all round.the food and drink is up there to compete with 5 star hotels we have been to in Turkey so in that case the value for money is superb.if I could suggest one improvement it is to put a little background music on in the Sunday entertainment programme as it needs a little life in it after all the brilliant and energetic work Erin and Co had put in through the week.we were given room 709 and what a view from the balcony! Sea view to our left and pool view down below with breathtaking scenery all around.the room was kept spotless by an excellent cleaning team who were red hot on supplying towels and water throughout our stay.the bar and waiting staff, salman(great fun, very jokey) suahat and his brilliant lady assistants at breakfast and lunch and the evening team who made sure our glasses were topped up! A special mention to the omelette lady, she never stopped smiling.there is an elderly guy and his trainee who make sure the pool area and sunbed spots are set up every day.energy!!! The welcoming receptionists helped massively with information and assistance which all helps the holiday along nicely.ignore the whingers and moaners, some people want 7 star service from a 4 star offering.this 4 star offering has been one of our best experiences from the many hotels we have been to in Turkey.thanks sun beach hill....we will be back!!
