We came for buffet dinner on Italian night and absolutely loved it!! We were very surprised and impressed at the selection and quality of food on display considering the very reasonable price - only 155aed per person! On top, all selections of drinks were available, including tea and coffee - all within this same price!! We were warmly welcomed from the beginning of our experience, from the courteous...

The room is spacious, and the balcony directly overlooks the Presidential Palace and the Palace Hotel. It's very convenient to go and have coffee at the Jinbo Coffee. Service: They provided a free extra bed

The room view is fantastic, directly facing the Mandarin Oriental, and we were even lucky enough to see fireworks at night. The room has two sinks, which is very convenient, and they provide plenty of bottled water

Hotel environment and facilities: The room faced the palace directly, offering an amazing view. Next to it was the Etihad Towers, where 'Fast & Furious 7' was filmed near this hotel

The club lounge was just okay; the selection was a bit limited. Although it's accessible from 11 AM to 11 PM, I went in once in the afternoon and could only get drinks and biscuits

Taxis to the Grand Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi take about 20 minutes and cost around 40 AED. Dining: The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options and tasted good

Transportation: There's a shuttle bus to Yas Island's theme parks, running twice a day. The palace and presidential palace are within walking distance

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel. Staff, from the concierge, to the doorman, to the cleaners were all polite and friendly. They treat you like a VIP whereever you go. Room was clean and service was prompt

We were greeted by Saleh at the reception counter, he was a very friendly and helpful, knows who we were and greeted us by our names everytime we passed by the counter. Connectivity to Abu Dhabi mall is also a big win

The location has a few more authentic restaurants if you care to venture a bit further. Al Aqsa a place that sells only Kunafah and baklava is only 10 mins walk away

Wonderful Family Stay at Bab Al Qasr Hotel Abu Dhabi I recently stayed at Bab Al Qasr Hotel Abu Dhabi for the second time with my granddaughter, and once again, it was an absolutely beautiful experience

My granddaughter enjoyed every moment, and I love it here just as much. Heythem and Brahim from reception for their politeness, friendliness, and genuine hospitality

This hotel is perfect for families with kids — the lovely pool, the clean and comfortable beach, and the overall warm atmosphere make it such a joy to come back to

At the ‘Loop’ you can chill with friends or family and enjoy in a beautiful AD sunset 🌅! The whole hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and attentive service

Friendly environment, clean hotel and very clean rooms. The food was great, and you can smoke shisha downstairs (ask reception). The shisha is ok, it's more in a pub environment but it was ok

The hotel is close to Yas Island, but quite far from the areas where other major attractions are located. I'd suggest staying downtown or near the Louvre if you're not specifically planning to visit the theme parks

On the second night, the bathroom light suddenly turned on by itself in the middle of the night. We also ordered room service, and the food was excellent. This is a hotel with very clear pros and cons

The staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and, overall, well-suited to Chinese tastes – much more delicious than the breakfast we had at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai

The hotel might be a bit older as the decor and facilities feel a bit dated. We stayed in a small suite; on the first night, even with the AC off, it was still freezing

The reception team rejected my free stay, which had been declared by the Abu Dhabi government, and forced me to pay; then they said, "Yes, as per the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, we can cover your stay

Given the positioning and reputation of the property, there is perhaps an opportunity to introduce more distinctive or memorable touchpoints that elevate the sense of discovery and excitement for guests

The quality of materials and finishing throughout the resort is evident, and it is clear that significant investment has gone into creating a luxurious physical environment

That said, while the resort is expansive, the overall range of facilities and experiential elements did not feel as extensive or surprising as I had initially imagined

At first, I tried to brush it off, thinking I might be overly sensitive, but when my mother—who doesn’t speak a word of English—expressed that she, too, felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, I knew this wasn’t just my perception

The hotel was the most relaxing and welcoming holiday experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the amazing staff made us feel at home. The rooms were spacious, and the bathroom was perfect for a large family

What elevates this hotel far above others, though, is the exceptional standard of service. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive and genuinely invested in making our stay perfect

Having Billy, the Harris Hawke, and his friendly handler on patrol to keep sparrows from stealing unattended food on the restaurant balcony was very special. Free access to the observation deck was a nice bonus

Also, the elevator doesn't go directly to the 10th floor; you have to transfer once, which was annoying. Another strange thing is that neither Google Maps nor Amap could navigate directly to the hotel

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite as a family of four, and the space was very generous, which we loved. However, the interior decor and facilities don't quite match the impressive exterior

Other than that, everything else was good, especially the 74th-floor observation deck, which is definitely worth visiting (it's free for guests, but external visitors have to pay)

The room wasn't very big, and the carpet felt a bit dirty. The view wasn't clear either, due to dust and sand on the outside of the building

I asked for a high floor if possible. On arrival we were upgraded to a huge two bedroom, two full bathroom apartment on the 10th floor of the 62(?) floor east residences bldg. Check in was reasonably quick

Addressing Disparities in Service at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi I am writing to express my observations regarding the service at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi, which I have frequented during my travels as an African professional in international sectors

As a frequent international traveler, I value seamless and respectful service, and it is disheartening to encounter situations that suggest otherwise

On two separate occasions, I felt a marked reluctance from the porter to assist with parking my vehicle or to allocate a driver, a stark contrast to the prompt and proactive assistance offered to a European guest who arrived just before me

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect when staying at this hotel but it was fantastic. The room was very big and included a bathtub which was great. Location was right next to Abu Dhabi mall and galleria mall

The hotel seems to be very popular with visitors and We found that the pool area was congested. The gym is okay for cardio with the treadmills and cross trainers, however lacks in variety and is small

The Southern Sun hotel has a welcoming entrance reception hall. The rooms are spacious and clean and everywhere that you go there's a lovely fresh odour smell. The hotel staff are lovely and helpful

*Amenities: The toiletries were from Le Labo, a brand that I adore. *Location: The Louvre is nearby, making it convenient to visit. *The rate during the Christmas season was approximately $1100 per night

The beach was absolutely stunning, with a beautiful blue, jelly-like sea. The staff were all incredibly nice; someone would even bring ice cream and water while we were relaxing on the beach

Guan, who made our check-in seamless and explained everything thoroughly. The room was also impeccably clean, and they even tidied up our scattered belongings very neatly
