Room 309 was clean but unable to use both sides of the bed to get in. On side was against the wall and no side table. The room had a large clock that doesn't work and an extra tv area with stools to sit on rather than a sofa?? Not sure when this space would be used?
Breakfast was good, both continental and cooked. Friendly service. Used the bar on Friday night but very quiet.

Great location for a friends wedding! Reception team gave a super welcome. Room was clean, perfect for the weekend. Bar staff in the bar, friendly and efficient!

I originally booked because I got a great offer from a hotel website for a specific date, so I planned my trip to London around that date.
My booking was originally for a Cosy Room.
After a visit to an exhibition and then an evening at the theatre I arrived, tired and footsore, after 10pm, expecting to just check in and sleep in a small room, no frills.
Violetta was on reception and she was so welcoming and friendly, asked how my day had been, was very interested in what I had done and gave me an AWESOME upgrade to my room. I had a huge space with a fantastic view across Charterhouse Square, bathrobe and slippers, luxurious chair and lovely decor, a massive bed that was like falling into a cloud and a beautiful bathroom with a shower like tropical rain!
I wish I had been able to stay later the next morning but I was booked to see another exhibition. Otherwise I would have stayed in that room until I was forcibly removed!
Breakfast was delicious, hot food cooked to order and even though it was temporarily in the bar area due to refurbishment it was well-managed and very efficient.
Thank you again Violetta for making what was going to be a very basic stay into one that I will remember a long time!

The breakfast was the worst part of the trip but by no means a deal breaker. The pastries looked unappealing and coffee was from a machine, and not a good one. Didn't try the cooked breakfast but the bar was great for dinner so that might be the way to go.

The hotel looks super nice from the outside. Very clean and elegant. The receptionist Victor is a super nice guy. He’s very funny and he helped us with everything we needed. Our room was ready early and we could go in straight away. The room was really big, the bathroom as well. Everything was clean and we had a nice view. The atmosphere in the hotel is really relaxing in total and it was nicely decorated for Christmas time. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Lovely welcome from the man on reception - who was just back from being poorly. Lovely energy and very kind and welcoming.

great room, lovely staff.
4 star as there is a surprising amount of noise from the nearby Smithfield Market.

I heard trucks reversing and unloading from my room, which operate from middle of the night onwards....

Always a good stay at Malmaison. Good transport links: Barbican (Metropolitan) Farringdon (Elizabeth) on doorstep. Good rooms and toiletries. Fantastic breakfast.

Genuinely impressed by the attentive and friendly staff, they served our plates without needing to ask who ordered what (and they weren't brought by the same person who took the order). Gorgeous selection of rare cuts, well prepared and served with unassuming simplicity. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and appreciated the bill not going through the roof. Will definitely come back.

Iconic uncompromising post-modern take on traditional carnivore eating. A Viking raider or a Dickensian trencherman would be equally happy to get their feet under these tables. The menu is as stark and to the point as the totally whitewashed interior, and what appears on your plate is exactly as described on the menu. Artful only in its painstaking simplicity, this is honest cooking elavated to high art. It's unique minimalism is trendy, of course, but at St John they would be doing exactly the same thing if it wasn't. Nor does simplicity come at all cheap. But what you eat here on any visit will so linger in the mind that you will probably need to come back for more. One part your grandmother's cooking, one part school-dinner, and one part sheer genius. The experience can divide opinion but I love it. Great wine list and excellent beers too.

This restaurant is a pioneer of nose to tail eating, therefore expect to see offal and bone marrow on the menu, there are other things as well but it is primarily about sustainability. The room is more utilitarian than glam but is very comfortable with its whitewashed interior. If you would like to understand what British food is, this is an excellent place to start

We had a very good meal here. the parsley and bone marrow salad (really set up to be spread on toast) was fantastic. I had the Hake and enjoyed it but the courgettes were too soft and overly buttery for my palate. My wife had the beetroot salad and the beef and enjoyed both. We followed with the Eccles pastry with the cheese - really rich and a great pairing. The dining room is quaint.

Reasonable subway. I've seen alot better options. No toilet and very limited seating. But holds what seemed to be a full selection of subway options.

Is good, depends on who is working because sometimes there are good staff and some days bad.

Never been more disgusted!!! Awful. Dirty. Cleanliness 0/10. Staff was wearing simple colourful tshirt, no hat, no apron, no subway tshirt. Just awful. Never going in that shop again. And telling everyone not to go there.

Not that great if you ask me. It's mostly empty and items don't feel to fresh. And the staff was amateurish
