Hollywood Hills Hotel in Los Angeles

Came here when we were in town recently. I was so impressed by the reviews online and the views of the place. We ate here on a Tuesday night and it was still very busy! Seems like a place that would be busy every night though. We requested a table facing the pool pagoda and the city. Absolutely beautiful views, but even better outside on their walking trail. The service overall was just okay. Food took about 45 minutes and my second cocktail that I ordered never even came, yet we were billed for it. Our server however was nice enough to remove it from the bill and still bring it over to me. The ambiance was nice too, but I was surprisingly surprised by the attire of the guests. To me, this place looks like a high end dressy dinner. It was pretty half and half for those that did dress up and those that just wore jeans and a tshirt. Not a big deal to me, I could care less but I was a little shocked by that. Even with the moderate service, this is still a place I would recommend simply because of the views. Side note, do not walk here ladies. Take an Uber or Drive. There is a ridiculous hill leading up to it.

Amazing views of the city with a nice feeling of privacy up in the hills(Valet parking only). This restaurant is one of my favorite places to go in LA. You have breath taking views from your seat as you dine or out front by the bar. There are beautiful gardens here along with koi fish ponds. The food here is great from the juicy chicken to the fresh cooked vegetables. Definitely an upscale romantic place to have dinner. Also nice to know that this place has been here for over 100 years.

We were first down at the outdoor bar for happy hour and the service was outstanding! The bar staff was so genuinely nice and sweet. Service was exceptional and such a fantastic happy hour! Great selection for only $7 for food and drinks on the happy hour menu.
Then we were up in the restaurant for dinner. Waiter was super nice and the food was excellent. I was leary from some of the reviews, but everything was delicious and beautiful.
And of course they have one of the best views in Hollywood.

The food was good. The view is breathtaking.
Recommended as a date night place. This place is a bit pricey. I wouldn't call the food here Japanese. At least half of the menu you can find at a regular seafood restaurant.

The restaurant is beautiful and the views don't get much better than this. I highly recommend going at night.

There's a small Japanese garden outside located in middle of the restaurant, can I live here, please?

The cocktails and food are overall very good. It's not going to be the best sushi and food you've had but it fits the overall quality and ambiance of this restaurant. Enough to earn 4 stars and a recommendation to come here with friends, a date, or hell, go by yourself and you'll still have a relaxing time.
