A nice hotel on the oceanfront. Our room had a wonderful view. Breakfast is typical American: omelet, sausage, bacon, or cutlets. Fruit and yogurt are also a plus. The rooms are a bit tired, but that wasn't a deal-breaker. Parking is a bit pricey.

Nice clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff. The breakfast buffé is so good! It’s not big but everything is tasty! Fresh fruits and berrys, fresh juices, bagels, scramble eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and a spicy tomato sallad. Would stay here again only because of the breakfast.

The staff is friendly enough.
The room was strange and could be cleaner. The shower door goes both ways which is unsafe- should open outward only. The sink counter is made of some material that leaves it looking ever dirty. The bathroom has a barn door that leaves zero privacy for someone on the toilet. The gap is an inch on either side. Yikes! The closet where there’s a door to ?? has a light that comes on at night while passing by. Creepy. There is what seems an all night party on the block so lots of music for hours (not bad but something to consider if you have children or are sound sensitive). It’s a vibrant space but not everyone wants that.
There are two amenity fees which I didn’t understand but seem to have been credited and returned… eventually. That totaled $240. for a prepaid room. It’s not a hold, it’s a charge.
The (king) bed is comfortable and perfect, as is the room temperature and made for an exceptionally restful night, even with the continuous party outside. Note: we were there on a Friday night only so maybe the sound is not the norm.

The location of this hotel is superb. It’s within walking distance of the beach and all the attractions and food scene of Venice. Good service overall. Very clean hotel and friendly staff.

The room was spotless. The staff was great and very helpful. Location is unbeatable. Very nice and comfortable stay. We'll definitely be back when we're in the LA area again. Price was good too.

Stayed at Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach and overall, everything was good! 🌊🏖️
Prime location steps from the boardwalk, clean modern rooms, awesome rooftop bar with killer ocean views, and super friendly staff. Loved the vibe—perfect for a chill LA getaway.
Only downside: the sliding bathroom door. It’s stylish but zero privacy—you hear everything. That was the one truly awful moment and honestly the only thing keeping this from 5 stars.
Still, would stay again (maybe request a room without the sliding door next time). Great spot!

Perfect Location. We were wake up early ealk run pkay voleyball basketball hotel land you so many stuf so dnt have to carry. Breath taking terrace and a famous restrurant wit a amazing prices.

Nice hotel, delicious vegetarian breakfast, you can take it with you. Parking at the hotel is paid, we parked on the next street. No pool, but you can see the ocean from the window. Some rooms overlook garbage containers, but they have the best view of the ocean)))

We had a great experience at Hotel Erwin! The location is perfect and the staff was extremely friendly, going above and beyond to help us and accommodate. The room was great with an ocean view and comfortable bed. Would definitely come back to this hotel!

Love Mao's and have been ordering from them for years. The food and customer service have always been top notch. Case in point: tonight, we ordered our usual dumplings, Bok choy over chow fun, and Dan Dan Mian.
The latter unexpectedly arrived without the sauce. I called them up to ask for a refund on the Dan Dan Mian. They apologized and offered to bring the missing sauce by in less than 10 mins. Sure enough, the *owner* personally showed shortly thereafter, with the sauce, plus bonus egg rolls AND a credit for the Dan Dan Mian. Talk about going the extra mile.
In short, if you're looking for delicious Chinese food at a fair price, look no further than Mao's.

I have eaten here before, but I am going to focus on just one picture / one dish. There was a time when they had soup to-go in the paper containers, now they have it in plastic. And this COMPLETELY irks me! Come on, people! It's 2017, we live in a more aware society and for the most part, ALL of us know the dangers of utilizing plastic containers! Both for the environment and our health, but PARTICULARLY serving hot soup in there?? I bought this soup, but I might as well throw it away. I am SO mad! Get with the times already! I'm going to spend my days drinking tumeric almond milk lattes so I can finish it off with plastic soup? Fail. Aside from the fact that the food usually tastes like a heap of dried, old oily meat and oily noodles.

This is the best Chinese food in Los Angeles. I recommend Mao’s to everyone and I have yet to meet a patron who doesn’t love it. Considering the huge portion size, it’s extremely economical, and you get free snacks when you dine in. They also have tons of options for vegetarians and choosing your own spiciness level is great. Go for the Dan Dan Mien with smoked tofu; it’s incredible.

Great Chinese food in Venice Beach. Highly recommend the beef Fred rice. The lunch specials are also good and the wonton soup is awesome!

A great place to hang out and catch some sun. Nice seating outdoors with a parade of humanity passing by. An excellent escape from winter. We ate there every day. Good service. Interesting and extensive menu, although can be a bit bland. A great location.

Kick ass fish fry and fish tacos. We enjoyed both items. They make a nice cocktail too. Cool location, friendly staff. Our first time in this area, but if we come back, we'll know where to start.

The Sidewalk Cafe is a regular stop for us when visiting Venice Beach. They have excellent breakfasts, and lunches are great, too. Never been there for the night life, but it sounds exciting, with Happy Hours, Taco Tuesdays, etc. If the sun is shining, the place is busy, but we've been there on a rainy February morning, and it was very quiet. The service is pretty good, but a little hectic when it is busier. We've never left disappointed though, and that is saying something!

My friend and I visit Venice every summer and we eat at The Sidewalk Cafe. The service is always good and the menu choices are abundant. Everything I've had there has been great over the years and today was no exception. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of some cleanliness issues. Example someone pet my dog but did not then wash their hands before serving food. Example too many men with no shirts. Overall we love this place and we recommend it highly!
