Best Western New Orleans East in New Orleans

My family of eleven and I arrived at the hotel and immediately were shocked with the bad service, smell, appearance, and location. This is not the correct location, no where near Bourbon street. The carpets were stained, and smelled horrible. We got there and the lady was talking to us from the backrooms whilst on her personal phone with someone else. She put the phone in her shirt and continued to talk to them whilst taking a while to check us in. We arrived at our rooms (we had three of them) the first one there was bread and crumbs all over the floor, and it took them several hours to even go up there to “clean it”. Our second room there was a cleaning cart still in it, and the room was dirty and smelled again HORRIBLE. The third room was decent, the beds were made, etc. we noticed right away that there was black mold on all three of the smoke detectors. All of the A/C units were leaking. We left to go to Bourbon street and came back, my room was OPEN. The door was open, and one bed was made. There was no one around, and when we went downstairs to let them know they were on their phones in the back room again. There was barely any toilet paper. All of the fridges were unplugged and the tvs. We had to go buy our own cleaning supplies. They came to clean our room, grabbed our towels and didn’t give us new ones. We went to use the pool and were told that it was closed within twenty minutes. It was approximately 9:05 and the pool closes at ten. The breakfast was okay, but they really didn’t have much so it shouldn’t be advertised as a continental breakfast. The workers were barefoot, and they weren’t very understanding either. Only one elevator worked, and even then it took a very long time to even get to the floor. Floor three the entire ceiling was caving in by the ice machine, and the ice machine didn’t even work. I promise you that you are not missing out by not stopping here.

This place is a complete dump. It should not be able to have the Best Western sign in front of it. The rooms stink of mold and mildew. It’s a horrible stench. The bed sheets and bedding are all damp. They actually feel wet in every room. There was a brown stain on my sheet. This is one hotel that should be avoided at all cost.. Update 8-11-24 it appears you charged me extra for the room change, I left a day early due to the conditions of the new room will I be credited for the room? No one on staff is able to answer any of those questions. 9-23-24 The owner has done nothing to make this right, I was over charged for getting a new room since the first one had stains on the sheet, You should never spend your money at a hotel that thinks so little of there guest,

I wasn’t going to leave a review because as always you get what you pay for. This is a cheap hotel that is just good for a night or two at most because it is barely clean (there was soil in the hallway), the rooms looked relatively clean (but once you check it isn’t deeply cleaned our sheets had hair on them), the internet was also down when here. However , my mom and I only needed to stay here for a quick overnight before a cruise.

However, what was truly terrible was the service. When we checked-in the woman was very kind and patient. The service that was terrible was from a fairly unimportant employee. Their breakfast service is unbelievably early (7-9pm), and lacks any diversity. I wasn’t truly hungry this morning, so I went down quickly to take a quick look and grab a cup coffee in my pjs because it was about to close. However, this rude employee (she said she ran the breakfast area) came over and said “ before you come down you need to put on some clothes because this is a family area.” This made me extremely uncomfortable and irritated because first it was clear that I was just coming for a quick look. The second is I was completely covered wearing shorts and a long t-shirt, the last time I checked this hotel didn’t have a dress code. It was unprofessional and rude, this experience ruined my whole stay and I hope they will train their employees better in the future. I WILL NEVER RETURN, you shouldn’t either.

Look elsewhere. We arrived at hotel and the night clerk was cordial. We got our key and went to our floor when the stench of mildew and mold hits. There was severe water damage on multiple floors, storage closets are just let open (more on that) and floors were disgusting. We made it to our room to unpack when we go to the bathroom, there is a can of Kilz spray primer for odor and stain elimination just sitting on the counter. The bath tube was not draining water, so there is definitely some plumbing issues. The beds were clean we checked before sleeping. The next day we left and came back around midnight. We had no clean towels or wash clothes. I got up early to go downstairs to ask for linens when I see staff sleeping in the lobby and in the office. I went back to our floor because the storage closet was open. It was a complete disaster as it looks like people have already searched for clean linens. We didn’t even stay out remaining days. We packed up and left. Prices was reasonable, but now I know why. Avoid if possible

The hotel experience i had the this pass weekend had to be one of my worst experiences over all! I booked a room so me & my kids could swim and enjoy ourselves! Once we entered the room my 7 year old found old empty beer cans in the bath room where the towels were suppose to be, first red flag!! We went by the pool with just a few snacks & was told we couldn't have them by the pool after seeing others with food by the pool, (Racism maybe) another red flag! I brushed it off until i went to the front desk to ask for towel & never received them ! Then the Front desk managers came to the poolside to smoke their cigarettes IN FRONT OF MY KIDS !! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL , & DISRESPECT of them! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! I strongly advise anyone not to BOOK this HOTEL EVER!

I hate to write a bad review. I can usually figure that if a hotel doesn't meet my expectations it's because I didn't do enough research or I just made a bad choice. However what unfortunately started out to be a great stay turned bad. We had placed some things in the room safe. When we came back a $1000.00 had been stolen from safe. It was reported but I don't expect anything will come of it. The room was great clean, beds were excellent it would have received a 5. Maybe this was just a fluke. If you stay here don't use the room safes, just take your stuff with you.
