Hotel Ivy Boston Common in Boston

Was the food good? Yes. BUT, horrible experience last night. A table for two was a 40 minute wait which I was okay with. We headed over to the bar which was packed - we got one stool and I stood. Over 45 minutes later, I decided to ask how much longer it would be. I was told the problem was they didn't have any tables....The entire time I waited there were multiple tables that no one was ever seated at. They didn't say they were short on waiters (I would have been more accepting of that), short on tables. They told me it should only be a "couple" more minutes. We decided to order some appetizers as we were starving and had a show to get to. Over an hour and half after we arrived, we received the call to get a table. I understand it can be difficult to estimate the wait time, but you had open tables all night. The appetizers were pretty good and the bartenders were great.

Please do not eat at this establishment. I visited the one in Downtown Boston Massachusetts. I used my debit card to pay my bill. I left the server a cash tip. The server also placed another tip on my debit card. When I called to get the funds issued back to me, I was told we will look into it and call you back. I would never get a call back. This went on for two weeks. The staff there then began asking me my name, and once I would give them my name, they would place me on hold, and never pick back up. What a joke. I had to call the corporate office, who then called the restaurant. Once this happen the general manager of the restaurant called me back. As I write this, the issue has still not been taken care of, lets see what happens. Just know, if you go in this establishment, and you have "KEVIN" as your server, watch your debit/credit cards, cause "KEVIN" will help himself to charging tips on your card...He is a thief.

Attended for a company event on a mid Saturday afternoon. Evocative physical setting which was belied by events. Surly waitress with attitude. Mass confusion on the part of servers. The food gave both my wife and I a nice case of 36-hour indigestion. Great selection of beer though. For a more satisfying experience, try Doyle's instead (but not on St. Pat's Day!).
