I cannot check out of this hotel fast enough. The laundromat operating above the ninth floor is completely unacceptable, and this experience will be a permanent mark against Hyatt in my book.
I slept on and off from about 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. It is now 5:15 a.m., and the constant rolling of carts and machines running above this room is unlike anything I have ever experienced in a hotel. Noise canceling headphones were useless, as the vibration comes straight through the bed.
I am in room 908, and I would caution anyone staying anywhere near this area of the hotel. If this noise travels through my room this clearly, I cannot imagine what nearby floors are dealing with.
Hotels have a responsibility to provide an environment that allows guests to rest. Instead, I am now planning how to squeeze in a nap later today and how to let my wife know I will be running on empty. I have a full day of work ahead of me and still need to be present for my family and be an effective dad. That matters.
When I called the front desk, the response was dismissive. The young woman I spoke with pushed back as though this was not a real issue and showed no intention of addressing it, which tells me this is likely a known and ongoing problem.
I can barely focus on writing this review because it is still that loud.
Unbelievable. This experience will absolutely come to mind any time Hyatt is presented as an option in the future.
The staff are wonderful, service is great and I love the location near Union Square.
The hotel feels safe, the design is stylish, and the atmosphere is perfect for both leisure and business travelers. If you want a place that keeps you close to everything without feeling chaotic, this hotel is a solid choice.
