Reviews
After going to my room, I found there was no heat, and cold air my blowing in my room and the temperature was 13 degrees Celsius in my hotel room when the temperature outside was -9 Celsius outside.
The bed was the most uncomfortable bed, there were plastic on the bed and it felt like we were sleeping on plastic garbage bags. The bedsheets had dark stains and mold was found in the bathroom.
We called after checking in to complain about the room a wanting a resolution to the problem and a refund but we were told no rooms were available and no manager on site to make any complaints but they could give us a space heater as a solution but could not get a full refund. We had to sleep in our hotel room with our clothes and winter jackets as they don’t have comforters on the beds and use 3 thin sheets as a comforter.
This has been my worst hotel experience were I would usually lean on a big company like ******* for hotel recommendations but learned quickly that the 4 start hotel we booked was closer to a 2 and a half star motel.
Stay away from this hotel.
Comfortable bed! Good amount of space!
Midtown spot and a great value.
Unfortunate, staff was great but rooms really below par.
While smaller than pictured, the room was large enough for the two of us. There were enough hangers for us my wife to hang her clothes and coats for four days. And the luggage rack could handle a large duffle bag.
The door to the room was near to the elevators, but we never heard any noise from them landing and opening on our floor. Nor did we hear commotion on the floor.
The same could not be said about the noise from the street, but we attributed that to standard NYC ambiance.
One complaint about the bedding; however, was the plastic mattress pad. While slightly loud, it also was not breathable so it could be a little uncomfortable.
The AC worked well to counter that.
The room was cleaned daily. And at one point when we needed a plunger for a clog, the front desk was able to send maintenance to help with that within 10 minutes. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The location was the favorite aspect of the hotel from our visit. We were shocked at just how walkable it was to many of the city’s sites, but it was also close to the multiple subway line entrances as well as the NYC Penn Station at MSG. It was close to many shops and restaurants as well.
If we are able to make it back to NYC in the future we will look to stay at Hotel Hayden again.
