Great location. The hostel was right on the lake and offered great events during the week.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.

The room itself was a little bit of a let down. The A/C was sketchy and made noises at all hours of the night and the room was humid and stuffy.

The communal bathrooms and areas were always kept very clean.

This was a very pretty and pleasant hostel. Drawback is that there are no electrical outlets by the beds, and locks for lockers are and extra charge. Rode my bike and walked along the path into town and it was a lovely way to see the city. Friendly staff.

My first hostel experience and it was great.
I shared room with five more people and they have small lockers inside of rooms in case you need to lock valuables. They have basic breakfast included: bread, fruit, coffee and cereal (still good but hope they could have more variety).
Their staff is good too, Vo helped me during my stay, he got my 10/10 he was very nice and helpful.

One of the better hostel experiences of my life. Considering the size of the dorms and it being during SXSW, everyone was very respectful and quiet. Common area is nice, food/coffee in the morning is appreciated. free towels and showers clean. It's a little further out of town but the walk is nice and location is peaceful. Felt safe at any hour

Everyone at HI Austin was amazing. Spent SXSW Weekend and it was great. Wonderful food for breakfast. The location is on the Lake Austin Side. Rooms and showers are clean. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Really nice place, very relaxed environment. They have lockers you can put your stuff in, provide you with towels, blanket, and comfortable bed. Definitely will return my next visit out here. :)

Great place good employees, free breakfast, Modern unique bed environments, friendly (college like) setting. . Friendly Helpful Staff. Generous Amenities. Large rooms have 14 beds. Overlooking the Colorado river. This modern Hostel is a 2- minute walk from the Ann and Butler Hike and bike Trail.

Staff: They're really friendly and go above to ensure a pleasant stay. Location: The city's best watering holes in the 6th St district are very nearby, so enjoy to the best attractions the city has to offer Amenities: Breakfast is the usual affair with toast, fruits and milk. So should suffice many student travelers. It also has free parking if you need it. Overall: I'd say the experience was good

Of all the hostels that I have stayed at, this is my favorite one. I stayed in one of the private rooms. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was right across to the hall and always available. The fact that breakfast was included was a nice touch. They had cereal, pancakes, and toast, along with coffee.

The hostel has a great location. It sits right on the bank of the Colorado river in the middle of a park, so you can take in the beautiful nature that Austin has to offer. There is also a nature path along the river that passes in front of the hostel. If you want to explore downtown or get something to eat, anywhere you would want to go is a 5-minute car ride away.

The best part about the hostel was the staff. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. Krys helped me change my reservation before I arrived, and once I got there, gave me and some of my buddies recommendations on where to eat, and solid directions on how to get there. Paustian works the front desk during the day. He always has a smile and answered all of my questions. Kenny is the manager of the hostel. You can tell that he really cares. I saw him working on the hostel all day on Saturday, maintaining the outside, and decorating the inside. Once he was all done, he came inside and played us a few songs on his guitar. The other guests were friendly too. I highly recommend this hostel.

So I haven't actually been able to spend the night here, but I paid for 5 nights, deposit and everything because I thought I'd be in Austin for work for that long. Turns out, I didn't need to be! I was there for about 7 hours and they completely refunded me, including the deposit! Everyone's incredibly nice and in the future, this will be the place I go to.
