Hotel Max

So my feelings on this hotel are very mixed. The room was mediocre, for the price I expected a bit cleaner and less problematic. The electrical was all old, I was constantly bumping the ceiling light (I'm 5'11") and the window unit air conditioner was loud. The hallway and building had the smell of an old smoking building even though I never saw anyone actually smoking in the hotel. The bathroom was the worst part. Absolutely no counter space,and the shower stall was only about 2'x2'. It was not relaxing at all having to pirouette in order to wash my lower half and I was constantly bumping a wall or partially out of the shower. The towels and washcloths felt as rough as sandpaper. The hotel has wifi, but it was unusable in my room constantly disconnecting.

So normally I would leave a 1-2 star review and call it quits. But, the staff was incredible! The front desk gave us some great recommendations on where to eat, the doorman was vigilant and extraordinarily helpful and friendly as we were coming and going. And when they were able to do something to help the staff went above and beyond to assist us.

Finally the location was fantastic, very close to pikes fish market, the convention centers, and tons of great food options and public transit options. The location alone almost made all the frustrations with the room worth it.

Great location to explore the city. Very friendly staff, and great patron staying at Hotel Max.
