Classic Hotel in Tirana

I was assigned a "single" room which must be reserved for a guide or driver. A non-functional attic room with no light switch by the bed; you have to get up and go to the front door to turn it off. In the bathroom: the door is jammed either on the toilet side or the sink side. Obese people should avoid this room. Shower with no hand shower: you have to wash your hair or contort yourself if you don't want to. Television on the side, so you'll get a stiff neck if you want to watch it from the bed. View of a roof storage area. Room 208 is to be avoided. I asked for a room change: no respect for the customer, this young man is at reception, then a waiter. Breakfast doesn't look like the photos; if you want a second coffee, you're charged because there's no coffee machine: you have to go to the bar. The only positive point is the bottled white wine, which costs 4500 lek, or 45 euros.

Review of Classic Hotel---Tirana, Albania There is a serious problem at Classic Hotel in Tirana regarding the heating and hot water systems. After 10 days in Room 203, spanning Feb. 4-14, 2023, I am surmising that both systems need to be entirely replaced, and that retro-fitting them into the existing building structure is going to be a major undertaking---possibly requiring the hotel to be closed for several months. Most of the hotel guest rooms were empty during my stay. It would seem that all of the locals know that there is NO HEAT, and NO HOT WATER in the hotel rooms. It's only the out-of-towners that get caught unaware. If you scan back through the guest reviews from a year ago (in ***********), you can see clearly that this is not a new problem. In fairness, I need to acknowledge that the WiFi was working well, and so was the elevator---these had not been working well on my only previous visit November 3-8, 2022. Housekeeping has always been good. The hotel might represent an interesting investment opportunity for the right developer. The location is nice, and the building, otherwise, has a lot of nice features. Check to see whether there are bank debts and liens on the property---and you may be able to force a buy-out at an attractive price.
