Reviews
I'd like to tell you about our stay at the Deghceni Guesthouse and our wonderful hostess, Gayane!
We stayed in Dilijan, and therefore at this guesthouse, from March 25-30, 2025.
We were a large group: two families—five adults and eight children. And there was a place for everyone—the adults could do their own thing in the common area while the children played outside (the entire area is fenced, with tables, a trampoline, and a playground for kids 😂👌🏻).
Breakfasts and dinners were truly something special; it felt like we were being stuffed 😅
Everything was incredibly delicious! It's a buffet, but you can also order from the menu.
The rooms are cozy and accommodate various numbers of people. The interior features a rich ethnic feel, making it a wonderful place to be. The common area has two TVs and a projector.
This isn't a hotel, so the rooms don't have refrigerators or other kitchen amenities, but if you need tea or coffee or to put food in the fridge, you can do so in the common area or ask the hostess or her assistants for help. Everyone is very friendly, smiling, and welcoming in true Armenian style, so any requests we had were never a problem; they were always helpful.
The hotel itself is located in a very picturesque location—there's a gorgeous view from the shared balcony, even from the street. The nearest shops are about a 20-minute walk away at a very leisurely pace (and we had a lot of children, so the walk took a very long time 😅🙌🏻).
I highly recommend this guesthouse!
The description of the issue ranges from manipulation of facts to outright deception. The list of options that was indicated on Booking corresponds to reality very conditionally. Balcony, refrigerator, air conditioning, kettle, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron, mountain view, landmark view, bath (namely a bath, not a bathroom), fireplace, washing machine and dishwasher - this is not a complete list of what was indicated in the room description. There is nothing of this in the room, but some of the stated options may be located somewhere inside the house in the common area.
Please be careful: none of our rooms have a balcony! There is a common balcony, the windows of two rooms overlook it (no, not doors, but only windows). There are tables on the balcony; anyone can be there. There is no refrigerator, kettle, air conditioner, and almost everything else on the list. You can ask the cook to put something in the refrigerator, but you need to understand that this is a shared refrigerator, it is not in the room. I didn’t see an air conditioner anywhere, perhaps there is one somewhere in the depths of the house, but it’s definitely not in the room. There is a kettle in the common area, but not in the room. There was initially no hairdryer either, but we asked and they brought it.
You will not get a normal view of the city and mountains from any room. In our room you had to stand in the very corner of the room, press against the wall, and then you could see something. One room has windows facing the mountains, but they do not look out onto the street, but into something like an internal corridor with windows. That is, from them you look out the window through another window at the mountains.
The rooms are small, cramped, dark, uncomfortable. Since the windows open onto a common balcony, the curtains must always be kept closed. There is no soap dish in the bathroom, no cup for toothbrushes, no shelves. There is no shelf for shampoos in the shower room.
In response to the comment that it would be necessary to post the correct information on Booking, the hostess told us bluntly: “No, YOU should have clarified all the information.” Great approach.
Delicious food, beautiful setting, warm atmosphere.
After the birthday party we stayed overnight. The rooms are clean, themed, there is a shower and toilet in the rooms.
We have never seen such delicious food and such a warm atmosphere anywhere.
We felt like we were among relatives and friends.
And I haven’t even eaten such delicious Tom Yum, which the hostess Gayane cooks, even in Thailand.
