Looking for a cheap and cheerful place to lay your head in downtown Melbourne CBD? Well, here's the place. You are in the thick of things, right on Collins Street, within walking distance of great shops and places to eat. Our room was large and comfortable, with a small kitchen and a separate bedroom. The bed was very comfy! Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We found the shower a bit small, but it was great to have a separate bathroom, with plenty of toiletries. We will definitely come again! (Also, getting in after reception hours on a Sunday was very easy, and there is dedicated parking nearby.)

The hotel's location and transportation are very convenient. There are various restaurants and coffee shops, shopping malls, etc. nearby, and it is within walking distance to many attractions in Melbourne city.

Great location for Comedy Festival season. Theatres opposite, right and left.
It was like the Paris end of that street had insomnia ; constant human traffic.
Hotel room at back of building - no view except for neighbouring building walls, scaffoldings, a couple of pigeons.
Not sure if other levels of floor had wheelchair access or not for the hallway outside rooms have split level. Our room had split level separating lounge and bathroom/toilet.
Facilities were great for room except for wall plugs not working. Don't expect USB plug ins for charging phones or other devices.

Great location, ignoring the trams you can walk almost everywhere (don't ignore the trams!) Rooms are well appointed and great when you compare what a traditional hotel gets you. Kitchenette, sofa, plenty of room for when you just need an hour or two to recharge for the next activity.

A hole in the wall, hard to locate. Old and dated and not clean. The worst night sleep I’ve had in years the bed had springs coming through the mattress and poking me and the pillows were like sleeping on rocks and no one to ask for more pillows as no reception after 8…… also the curtains in the sitting area are broken and didn’t close properly therefore zero privacy in the room and light shining in all night! Absolutely disgusting for a room that was just shy of $300!!

We enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect, near loads of cafes, restaurants and bars. The only problems we had were that our TV didn't get the movie channels that are promised, we couldnt connect to chromecast or the wifi and we didnt love the fully stainless steel bathroom; it just felt cold and clinical. The bed was super duper comfy and we loved the little touches like a welcome drink, free snacks and drinks and good toiletries.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have much to do with them but when we did, they were lovely to deal with.
It doesn't warrant a premium price though. I would say an average hotel in the perfect location.
We wouldn't book again as it didn't "wow" us enough to warrant returning.

It was a less than good stay. We were told ‘No’ a lot by staff for really simple requests. Eg can the complimentary beer on arrival be their non-alcoholic one. The aircon sounded like we were sleeping in a 24-hour factory. Things that we successfully ordered on the room service app were then not in stock we were told. Overall a fail on service. Staff not allowed to perform basic customer-service duties unless it fell within a very narrow scope. We won’t be back.

Proximity to inner city Melbourne activities and restaurants excellent.
Friendly staff, clean rooms.
A boutique hotel but not an art hotel.
Needs a refresh in some areas though.
Coffee pod machine very cheap and produces cold coffee.
Ironing board broken.
Promised free drink on arrival not there.
Sheets don't tuck properly so the bed gets very tangled during the night.
Breakfast very plain and little choice.
Premium price probably not warranted.
Not disability friendly, stairs only to enter foyer. Same with rooftop pool.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful - the staff were so lovely, very accommodating when we needed anything. Check in wasn’t until 3 but as I’d emailed them earlier they let us check in when we arrived at 9:30am on our flight from England which is amazing service. The free drinks and snacks were lovely, the room was huge and the bed was so comfortable. Add in the great location and the cool rooftop pool and it was everything we could have asked for!

I enjoyed staying here, room was large, bathroom had lots of space, I enjoyed the free snacks, the room got toasty warm. The front desk people were very friendly, even carried my suitcase for me down the steps. It felt like it had style. Good location. It was a luxurious last night in Melbourne.

Umm what can I say, food was amazing however the dishes were just to small, after 7 courses before the deserts we were all still hungry ? and 3.5 hours to get the dishes out ?? just way to long between dishes - service was messy, not knowing who was doing what, ?? and not attentive enough....15 mins waiting for a drink order ?? having to remind the waiters ?? Place is over rated.

Still remember the first time eating at a Asian focused fine dining restaurant. Still remember how beautiful the Crab Dumplings with Sweet Thai broth called Tom Kha Soup dated several years back. Nice and cozy dining room. Service was professional and friendly. One of the best Asian fine dining out there.

Whilst the food was very good the experience was significantly marred by extremely inattentive service. We had to ask for service to order lunch. We were upsold dessert as part of a lunch special and then waited for over 40 minutes before deciding to leave when NO STAFF acknowledged our presence and instead walked past us on numerous occasions. We were not asked if we wanted anything further, when dessert was not brought to the table we decided to pay and leave. We waited for someone at the desk to pay and when we alerted them to the missing dessert we were offered no apology. As visitors from interstate we were very disappointed.

Lovely staff, the chili pork ramen was nice as were the soba noodles. The winner of the night were the kingfisher maki. Really nice atmosphere although a little overpriced.
