This hotel feels like a time capsule from the communist era—and not in a good way. Old furniture, worn-out carpets, a dingy, unrenovated bathroom, and sheets that feel as old as the building itself. Unless you’re into history reenactments, I wouldn’t recommend it. Only stay here if you truly don’t mind stepping back several decades in comfort and style.

Dirty rooms, (some of them had bedbugs) cramped pools and rude accountants all made this place less of a holiday and more of a moral challenge.

I visited this hotel on a halfboard basis as part of a cycling tour operated by Penguin Travel.
Unfortunately we arrived late to the hotel so I didn't have time to experience the spa facilities.
My room was 514, and at the back of the hotel, accessed via a lift. The room was not the biggest of rooms, it was very clean, however it was very outdated (old). Luckily, the bed was fairly comfy, so I had a good night's sleep.
Our dinner was pre-arranged and booked for 8 pm. We started with a salad, followed by apertisers of fried cheeses, veggies, and bread. I had a main of chicken with potatoes and a few veggies. The food was fine.
As we couldn't speak bulgarian and our waitress couldn't speak English, we communicated via Google Translate, which worked well.
The breakfast was buffet style and OK. The usual cheeses, meats, eggs, breads, etc. A typical bulgarian breakfast as I am finding out on this trip.
My tip for this hotel would be to book a room at the front of the hotel as it gets the sun.

Like it! specially the hot springs and sauna. Dinner was great

Our room was spacious and the view of the opposite neighbourhood and the mountains was spectacular, especially when snowy. The lobby was nicely decorated.

Nevertheless, it is a refurbished old hotel in late-80s socialist style. That means no luxury should be expected and the SPA centre, the rooms and the indoor restaurant looks passable but not great.

Do not be fooled by the outside looks. The Inside is absolutely amazing. The location of the outdoor poor is perfect! The sauna, steam bath and all facilities are impeccable. Staff are really very polite. Breakfast was delicious and had vegan/Vegetarian options. I totally love this place.

Tips:
1. If taking the train, get down at velingrad-jug(south) station. It is 10 mins walk from there.
2. Do not miss the cold water pool.
3. Book directly with them instead of with Booking. For me it was almost 25% cheaper.

Good place to relax and enjoy your time off. Usually crowded, but there is room for everyone. The one big disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning in that facility. You can try to compensate by having the windows open, but that depends on your room location. We ended up staying in a slow air-draft spot and it was quite warm, sometimes even uncomfortable. The pool is in good condition, the fun time for the youngsters starts around 5:30-6:00 pm when they allow them to start diving from the elevated spots. I understand the process of changing the water, but closing them down at 7:00 pm is way to early to cut off the visitors from pool access(in fact all the water activities). The reception could be little more friendlier, they will help you out, but are so stiff and sometimes even sour. If they (all the staff) realize that they work for the people who stays there this place will be much better. It seems like some of the staff still think that the visitors should please/work for the staff, while it should be the opposite. The people in charge should think about bringing in new elements of the business or maybe they are satisfied with what they offer and don't want to get out of their comfort zone (even though that is the worst strategy for this kind of business). Pool table (billiard table), air hockey, table tennis, few electronic car-driving games are good for the after hours activities-people still have to find some kind of things to do.
Overall, affordable place to go to, but it can be improved- lot of room for improvements.

A nice place to take care of yourself! Everything is acceptable except the management of the restaurant, I don't think she knows how to manage a restaurant, she is nothing more than a waitress!

2 stars just because of the resturant, the way the employees acted was just disrespectful, the food was almost not edible due too much spices or way too less meat even off the vegeterian menu, which i didnt see anywhere.
