This is a very good hotel for the price and star rating. It's central enough without being in the middle of the mele of sunny beach. The rooms are large and clean (albeit basic), with plenty of hot water and regular towel and sheet changes. Without doubt I can say the reason the holiday was so good was because of the fabulous service received from Ivaylo the main barman. He was super efficient, friendly and kind offering advice and tips about the area. If it wasn't for Ivo, our rating would be 3 star. As the same cannot be said for the part time barman who was rude, lazy and arrogant. We would go to the beach if he was behind the bar as the music was turned up very loud to suit him and he played songs on repeat constantly. One day he played one ABBA track 12 times! His attitude was terrible and he should never be employed in a customer facing role. The main lady on reception was pleasant and suggested we leave our key when we left each evening (they are actual keys not key cards). Breakfast was acceptable but very little variety. We recommend you take a travel kettle as that's the only time you will be able to grab a cuppa. We would stay there again as it's a great little place for the price, just don't expect consistency in customer service across all the team!

Just come back from a 10 day stay at the Karlovo. I had read negative reviews but decided to still go with it, many reviews spoke about how rude staff were. We arrived around 10.45pm tried and in need of food, we were greeted by a very smiley receptionist, Rachel. She was so lovely and polite, in fact many of the staff were and the barman at the pool bar was great! All though the hotel is a little dated, especially the carpets in the halls the hotel itself is spotlessly clean! Staff were in everyday tidy the room and making the beds and every 3 days came and changed the beds. We were bed and breakfast and for a small hotel the food was excellent, we normally end up eating out a few mornings but this was everything we needed. The hotel Is a great location, literally 7 minutes from the beach and about 10 minutes to flower street. Great if you like ice cream as there is a gelato shop bang opposite! Really can’t fault the hotel at all, we would definitely stay there again.

The service was excellent from Rachael and Tudor ( who spoke VERY good English) , also the other reception staff. Yes the pool is small but the amazing beach is 5 minutes away. Yes, the hotel is near a busy road, we enjoyed watching the action with a Gin and tonic from the balcony!! Breakfast was fine, no issues. Room was spotlessly cleaned each day! We do intend to visit Bulgaria again, and this hotel - much love Paul and Julia room 104.

The hotel's price-quality ratio did not meet expectations. There was not always staff at the reception who spoke English. The bathroom smelled of sewage. We told the staff about this and they said they knew about the problem and could do nothing about it. The reason is the whole sewage system because it is an old house. The breakfast was really modest and there were not many options available. The hotel room fridge was so cold that the drinks froze during the night. It could not be adjusted warmer. Sheets and towels were changed every three days. For an additional fee, new ones could have been provided more often. The pool area is much smaller than in the pictures. Tables and sun loungers dirty and shabby. On the positive side, the beach and shopping street are close by. Supermarket and restaurants across the road.

Unbelievable bedding only changed once air con did not work good had beetles crawling on my back try to approach staff did not want to know english breakfast hot dogs breakfast not covered had the runs ate nothing not friendly staff at all small towels when arrived at hotel guy showed us to a room went to speak to him he said I know speak English walked out and shut the door none of the staff spoke never go to this hotel again

The Hotel is in a great location for exploring Sunny Beach. Flower Street and the beach are within a short walk 5/10 minutes. The Hotel and rooms are extremely clean and well kept. The cleaners came in and done the room every day. The pool bar serves a good pint at 5LV each which is very reasonable. The food looked good although we never ordered as we prefer to go out. Reception is manned 24hrs and the staff are helpful. A few negatives, breakfast is very limited, repetitive and basic, but ok. We booked a late checkout 120 Lv cash only wouldn’t accept card at all. The room towels very small and very worn. Our shower had a curtain which wasn’t the right fit so the bathroom flooded. We had a room facing the Main Street so could get noisy at times. No safe in the rooms but safes are available behind reception. Be carful not to break anything or loose a key or towel full list of charges for replacements is in the welcome pack and they check everything on leaving.

Hotel Karlovo was spotlessly clean. The rooms are basic, which suited me as we didn’t spend much time in there. There is a mini fridge in the room but no kettle. We took our own travel kettle. The air con is beside the bed which was great for me but not my hubby. Our room faced the road and was a bit noisy but we closed the windows at night and it kept the sound out. Just meant we needed the air con on all night. The food was nice but nothing fancy. Breakfast had plenty of options hot and cold. The pool was lovely and quiet most of the time and always managed to get a lounger no matter what time of day we went down. Great service from the bar, specifically from Ivo. Overall it was a great stay. No complaints at all.
