Zhong Tai Lai Hotel Shenzhen in Shenzhen

Poor housekeeping service-not professional and appropriate.

Booked 3 rooms at ZTL for 4 nights 3 months in advance through booking.com. When we arrived, they told us they were missing one of our room! Ridiculous!? Luckily, they suddenly said they found one.
However, Booking.com listed 4 beds in description but the receptionist claimed there’s no 4 bed rooms here. They should properly update.
Unfortunately, The first few nights in we already realised many problems with the housekeeping.

First, we realised they did not change our bed linens for multiple nights, some nights no replacement of slippers. Bar soap was also given instead of liquid hand soap which I personally dislike.

Second, On one of the nights when we returned, shampoo bottles so on were left open after refilling, my table was still dirty with some crumbs and wrappers(showing they don’t even clean the tables)(it was just 5 crumbs from the night before).

Third, housekeepers were curt and unfriendly. When my relative fell sick with stomach issues, they ended up vomiting and she kindly told the housekeeper who was outside about her sickness and mess. We understand vomit is revolting but their reaction was abit rude- she gave a disgusted face and told her that she is not responsible for our side of rooms and should tell someone else. So, my relative requested a towel to clean it up themself.
If she did not feel like cleaning it she could have just kindly said sorry, I’m unable to or help find the person in charge or at least not show disgust.
The only good thing is the location.

In summary, We were very disappointed in general. Almost for the same price paid, the previous hotel we stayed at had MUCH better service.
Besides for the good location of the hotel(right opposite all the food stalls and shopping), I have no other reason to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Been there in 2012, former propriety: it was acceptable, an overall 6/10. Been there again in 2014, new propriety: terrible ! The next year I changed ! Hygene was way below the standard.

Terrible reception. Almost zero English.

I asked for an iron to be dropped off at my room along with how much the laundry service was.

They sent the iron to my room but then took away the laundry from my room when I wasn't there and then charged me to have it cleaned.

I just wanted to know how much it was, not to actually have the service.

I then asked if I had to pay the full price for laundry, since I didn't actually ask for it. They said they couldn't offer any discounts.
