Dingyi Hotel (Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Lujia Bang Subway Station) in Shanghai

Room: We expected a larger room but its a you get what you pay for deal. There was not enough space for our luggage (only had 2 big suitcase) so be aware that the rooms are similar or smaller than a dorm room. The room and toilet itself was clean with room service available. There are only stairs - so if you have multiple luggages or other accessibility issue there are no lifts within the building.
Service: We had a difficult time communicating with the hotel staff, we landed at 3AM and couldnt find the location and when we rang multiple times our calls were declined and no help was provided. The staff also seemed annoyed that we came at this hour (we know its early morning but we are tired from the plane too). I found it a bit difficult communicating, even with translation apps as she only wanted me to speak Mandarin verbally which I cannot do at the moment (another reason why our phone calls were declined).
Location: Amaps and the actual pinpoint location for this building was very different. This building is located at the very corner between the resturant with the shark from finding nemo at the front of it. There is little signage so just beaware. Other than it, it was close to Lawson / convenient stores, foods and only 20 / 30 mins away from shopping districts.

Although it was a good location and clean, the photos do not represent the room. The walls and the floor were very grubby. This is not the cleaners’ fault, but the maintenance.
