The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong in Shanghai

Stayed there for 4 days during New Years. Fantastic location, view was amazing. Clean, spacious, no problems checking in or out. Would stay here again.

Stayed 2-5 January, last time in Shanghai was 15 years ago & stayed at a cheap hotel back of The Bunds.

It was freezing (1°C). If you speak mandarin things would go smoother! Arrived at midnight & front desk didn’t speak English. In front of us receptionist prepared cheap toiletry essentials per person, then handed to me over counter. They asked for 600CNY cash as holding deposit, I just had 700.

Old and in need of renovation. Room paid for was the RIVER VIEW, stunning views of city & The Bund. Aircon didn’t work, tv didn’t work, wardrobe lights couldn’t be turned off even with doors shut.

Bed firm & pillows comfortable, sheets clean. No bad smells, windows can open slightly, which we did every morning. Water bottles provided and everyday we got new bottles from the cleaning lady. She was very accommodating to all our room needs; towels, slippers (as they tear easily), toilet paper, etc..

Paid for breakfast, but on first attendance (top floor), the food was horrible, even simple fried eggs were swimming in oil. Rice was old, the fruits dry. Forget the coffee. And bread was something I have never seen before. We just went out to a restaurant 20min walk behind The Bund were I was familiar.
FYI: HALAL friendly restaurants are everywhere, impressive Lebanese ‘Eli Falafel’.

One rainy day, front desk provided umbrellas after asking for them. Also, concierge rang on his mobile a car to take us to airport. We paid him using AliPay.

Would I stay here again? Not at the high price I paid, as I expected Shanghai’s hospitality service to have improved (& basic English) after 15 years.

Great location! It's only a 3-minute walk to The Bund. Our room on the 23rd floor offered a spacious and bright view of Waibaidu Bridge and Shanghai Mansion. Big thanks to Xiao Xiao, Xue Xue, and Xiao Chao. You can get to The Bund in just 5 minutes on foot. Love it! 👍 This must be the best value-for-money hotel near The Bund. Excellent location for just over 600 RMB.

The hotel is located near to Bund, just few minutes away. The room was clean with good view. Personnel is welcoming, all was good.

The room was bright, the windows were clean, and the service was good. It was a pleasant experience.

The front desk staff, Ye Min, Song Dashun, and Chang Xiaochun, were very enthusiastic and helpful. The hotel offers a fantastic view of the beautiful river, which is absolutely wonderful.

The room is a bit outdated. But the view is stunning. It is a part of the bund that’s less crowded, and breathtaking

The location is fantastic, right past Waibaidu Bridge, directly facing the Bund. You can see the Bund from the room. I've stayed on the Bund side before, so it was a bit disappointing this time that my room didn't face it, but the night view was still excellent. The room was a bit small but felt very secure. The only minor drawback was the soundproofing, which was slightly lacking, but everything else was great. I just wish there were more discounts! Xiao Wang, Xiao Song, and Xiao Xiao provided really good service too. I'd definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

Although the hotel is a bit older, it generally has everything you need. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast is delicious. The restaurant is a full river-view restaurant, so you can see the 'Bund Three-Piece Suit' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers) while having breakfast, which is a truly beautiful view. Front desk staff, Xiao Wang, Xiao Li, and Xiao Song, were all very welcoming and friendly, making for a great experience.
