Service: Good.
This hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a top-tier Chinese hotel. Tianjin is also a beautiful city, and I hope to visit again in the future.
The breakfast buffet is extensive, offering a great mix of Western and Chinese options, and the dining area is very comfortable.
There's also an excellent Cantonese restaurant inside, serving delicious food at reasonable prices!
Special thanks to Club Lounge staff 孙嘉宁 (Danica) for her exceptional care and professionalism. After I left my belongings at the hotel, she ensured they were properly stored and even prepared a thoughtful surprise, truly going the extra mile. She also introduced the hotel’s special services in detail, providing an excellent and memorable experience. Her service fully reflects the Ritz-Carlton standard, and she truly deserves recognition from management.
Special shout-out to Lobby staff Jeffi for her kind and efficient assistance. She helped resolve my payment issue smoothly and assisted with merchandise purchasing and courier arrangements. Her support made everything hassle-free.
Both Danica and Jeffi are outstanding staff members who truly elevate the guest experience.
First, I booked the room several days in advance. When we checked in, we were upgraded to an executive room. The front desk staff told us we could dine on the first floor or in the executive lounge. After their nap, my parents went to the first-floor café to ask if drinks were complimentary as part of the executive room service. The waiter replied, “Coffee is free, everything else costs extra.” My parents ordered two coffees, and after they finished, they were told the total was 120.00 yuan. To avoid spoiling everyone's mood, I paid.
Secondly, when I accompanied them, I noticed there were no welcome fruits or welcome card. I thought maybe it was because of the last-minute room upgrade, and they hadn't had time. But when we returned from our errands in the afternoon, there still weren't any. I happened to see a staff member delivering welcome fruits to another room, so I asked, and the staff member said, “I don't know.” Later that evening, I encountered another staff member who said, “Let me ask.” So, around 9 PM, we finally received the welcome fruits.
Furthermore, this was the first time I've stayed in an executive room at a hotel of this caliber that didn't offer turn-down service.
Also, there were noticeable stains on the glasses in the room. The same applied in the executive lounge; you had to pick through the cups, and dirty dessert spoons were mixed in with clean ones. I mentioned it to a staff member, who smiled and replied, “Okay, please just pick out the clean ones for now.”
The bedding felt like high-thread-count cotton, but the pillowcase seams were tattered and frayed.
I'm not sure if these issues are because this hotel isn't the Ritz-Carlton international chain I thought it was, or if they 'discount' their service in various ways because I booked through a platform and didn't pay the full price.
So many baffling bugs.
Pros: The food was delicious, but I have concerns about the hygiene. All the staff members were cheerful, except for one chef in the executive lounge who always looked glum.
What stood out for us was two things:
firstly the nice courtyard room (unfortunately the cold weather prevent us from spending more time in the courtyard).
Secondly the steak in the Charcoal Grill is probably the best we had in Tianjin.
We will be back , if not for a longer stay ,at least for the steaks.
The service was exceptional — staff were warm, attentive, and made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay. Breakfast had a great selection, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.
The location is also very convenient, close to shopping streets and cafes. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort, class, and excellent service in Tianjin.
