Executive Lounge Privileges: Includes afternoon tea, snacks, and fruit.
Facilities: A bit old. The showerhead was completely weak and sparse, and the hot water from the bathtub was only lukewarm.
Service: Housekeeping was very thorough, and the restaurant service was excellent. However, other aspects of the service were completely inconsistent with a five-star hotel; I'd even say there was no service at all. The security guard at the entrance parking lot was incredibly loud. As soon as I arrived, I heard him yelling at and shooing away drivers, which I found perplexing.
Executive Club Benefits: What executive club benefits? I didn't experience any, and the front desk didn't explain what the executive privileges entailed.
It's hard to give this place another chance.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Ambiance: Extremely upscale, great for photos.
Service: Excellent, all staff were very patient.
Highly recommend! The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
The decor followed Portuguese motifs. Attentive service; high prices. For caldo verde soup, duck rice plate, and latte was 190 RMB.
The two of us ended up ordering 12 dishes. I don't know how hungry you are or how much you can eat, but we ordered 8 dishes at first because our waitress told us that it would be more than enough. After finishing those 8 plates, we went for a second round. Go and try a variety of dim sum on the menu, not just limiting yourself to the usual dumplings- especially the pastry were interpreted differently than at the usual dim sum places. The accompanying tea fit quite well. It was just unfortunate that not everything on the menu was available that day.
Service was impeccable and incredibly attentive. It started before we even entered the restaurant by a waitress coming out and greeting us while we were still on the escalator and ended with us being escorted out.
The interior design of the restaurant was nice and modern, but not too flashy, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Go with someone who can speak Chinese since, even though this is an upscale restaurant, the staff spoke no English.
