The hotel is located on Moganshan Road, about a 20-minute bike ride from West Lake, and 8 minutes from Xiangji Temple and the Xinyifang Canal taxi dock. Upon my request during booking, the front desk arranged a quiet room away from the elevator. They even upgraded me to a deluxe standard room and gave me mooncakes. The room was newly renovated but didn't have any pungent smell. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation. What I particularly want to praise is the mattress in the room. There was a soft topper on top of a firm spring mattress, along with a deep sleep pillow. This was incredibly comfortable for someone like me with back and neck issues; I slept soundly until dawn. The breakfast offered a wide variety, including a fresh coffee machine and four or five kinds of fruit. I highly recommend the freshly made diamond-shaped scallion pancakes – they were fragrant and not greasy, bringing back childhood memories. The hotel also has a large parking lot, making it suitable for guests traveling by car.

My stay at the Meiyuan Hotel in Hangzhou was excellent, definitely deserving of a super long positive review! First, the location – it's tucked away in a bustling area yet surprisingly quiet. It's only a seven or eight-minute walk to the subway station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. You can easily find authentic local eateries just by strolling around in the evening. The room size was much larger than I expected, and the bedding was just right – not too soft, not too hard. I slept soundly all night without any backaches, which is a huge plus for me. The bathroom had a clean and efficient wet/dry separation, and the hot water came quickly with stable pressure. The front desk lady was genuinely friendly, not in a robotic way. She was incredibly detailed when answering our questions about attractions and transportation, and even proactively recommended places popular with locals. While the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was very clean, and the freshly cooked noodle station was a delightful surprise. Overall, the value for money in this area is truly outstanding. I'll definitely choose Meiyuan again when I visit Hangzhou next time.

The first room was supposed to be for 3 people. There was no electricity and even tho the beds already were very small there still was no room left.
Then we got upgraded to a room on a higher floor. The electricity was a bit unstable and the room smelled old.
Even though the beds were small they were comfortable enough.
The breakfast buffet was pretty good.
So even tho the firsthand experience was bad the hotel was alright.

Staying at the Hangzhou Meiyuan Hotel again was a great experience. The young lady at the front desk had excellent service and was very efficient. This time, she upgraded my room, which looked very new and was spotlessly clean, making for a comfortable overall stay. The hotel also offers a free laundry room and gym, perfect for a workout in the evening. The hotel's location is also excellent, very close to attractions like West Lake and Xixi Wetland, reachable by taxi in about 20 minutes. Overall, it's great value for money with good service, definitely recommended.

My overall experience at the Meiyuan Hotel in Hangzhou was quite good this time. The location is very convenient. My room was on the 5th floor, and the decor, layout, and size were all standard, fitting for a hotel of this caliber. The room was well-equipped, with a stationery box and a fridge, and the bed was a 1.5-meter size. I must commend the front desk service; when I reported an issue previously, their response and resolution were incredibly quick. This really deserves special praise!

The moment I stepped into the lobby, I noticed a subtle, very pleasant fragrance – not an overpowering, artificial scent. The front desk staff were super efficient; there were two people ahead of me, but I was checked in within three minutes. They also handed me a refreshing welcome drink, a cool summer special, which was a nice touch on a hot, stuffy day. The parking lot had plenty of spaces; I even found one easily when I arrived after 8 PM. What I was most satisfied with was the soundproofing in the room. I thought an older hotel might be noisy, but I slept straight through until morning. I could barely hear any noise from the hallway or the street, which made for excellent sleep quality.

This hotel seems to cater to international guests, as I saw many foreigners checking in, likely tour groups visiting Hangzhou. The room was clean and cozy, with every detail showing the hotel's attentiveness. From the decorative paintings on the walls to the reading lamps by the bed, everything felt exceptionally refined. The bathtub in the bathroom was also spotless, perfect for a hot soak to relieve a day's fatigue. It was a really comfortable stay!

Meiyuan Hotel is an older establishment, so the rooms aren't huge, but they appear quite clean. The beds are soft and comfortable. Toiletries like toothbrushes and toothpaste are provided at the front desk during check-in, while shampoo and body wash are already stocked in the room. Everything is there, and the quality is good. They give you two room cards, which is handy for moving around the hotel freely and for power. The room also has both a split air conditioner and central air, so you can choose whichever you prefer. Breakfast is on the first floor and offers a good variety of both Chinese and Western options.
