Great location, but poor quality hotel. Clean but v drab. We left after one night. The manager expressed no surprise. All bookings are non-refundable. On asking for accommodation at other hotels, they are used to "refugees" fleeing this hotel. My recommendation: Don't. Stay. there.

Le directuer was friendly and helpful. He spoke very good English and even helped me learn some new French words/phrases.

Good points are the location, comfortable and clean bed (no duvet) and very pleasant staff. Bad points: a very old building with fixtures and fittings to match. No bedside sockets to charge things, two in the room and one stopped working, dirty sink plug, tiles not stuck properly, tired decor and painting. Sad, because it has potential but no money has been spent on it for some considerable time.

The hotel was located on the square in the middle of Pau. The location was good. However, you can see that the building is quite old. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was small, the shower pressure was very weak, and there were almost no amenities. The people at the reception were nice. There was air conditioning. If the hotel were rebuilt in this location, it could be reborn as a 4-star hotel. It's a shame that it's so old.

I really loved the burger with fresh foie gras! I ordered their steak a second time--it was very good but it was just too big. Great atmosphere, they give a lot of food so you should come hungry. It's not cheap, but the price is not crazy either. Great staff!

Nice hotel and restaurants in the old city centre of Pau. Well located. No reception, all digitally accessible with codes.

Good location, warm water and wi-fi.
Some of the food for breakfast had expired and the room was dirty. Kind staff but had problem communicating with the manager. Would not recommend.

Do not book here.
Besides the very small room, and no existing air conditioning, which I can live with... The sheets and towels do not get changed (as does the toilet paper).
Furthermore, an employee asked 20 euros of me to provide a covid screen (relevant at the time) for me and my colleague in our room. Never saw that screen, never saw my money back, other employees were playing dumb.
Go somewhere else.
(sidenote: I helped a lovely old asian couple get their booking in order since they had issues getting to their room, the guy on the phone was incredibly rude)

If it were possible 0 stars,
The worst part for me were the ants in my room, the room wasn’t very clean. Very small bathroom. Whether you book for one or two people rooms are the same size. Upon arrival my room was extremely hot, the air conditioning is loud, doesn’t do it’s job very well. Every noise from the room next to you, outside, .. can be heard, no isolation at all. Stains in the room & shower. I had a kettle etc but the people in the room next to me only had sugar and one cup. I think the people praising the breakfast here had a different one, not a lot of food (& yes we were quite early), dead flies next to the coffee machine, by the window,… let’s not even mention the smell..
