Best Hotels in Berchtesgaden

As I type this review on a plane back to the States, I hope this is only a "see you later" and not truly a "goodbye

The hotel is modern, dreamy and exceptionally clean. I am extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness and Kempinski, as always, did not disappoint at all. Everything felt immaculate and very well maintained

The service at the front desk and concierge was impeccable, very professional, warm and genuinely friendly. Room service and overall service throughout the hotel were excellent as well

The spa was solid and offered all the basic, well-functioning amenities one would expect. I’ve stayed at spa hotels with more impressive facilities, but this one still delivers a good overall experience

We had a perfect week at this hotel. Incredibly friendly, some very young, staff, excellent quality food, tastefully decorated hotel in a fantastic location

The hotel is very couple- and family-friendly, and one thing I truly appreciated was how quiet and uncrowded it felt. Even though the hotel was fully booked during our stay, we barely ran into other guests

I think mainly due the fabulous relaxed atmosphere mixed with good quality service , amazing amenities and compared to English prices, really not expensive

This was our second time coming to the hotel. This time we stayed for a week. As always, the breakfast bar was fantastic and didn’t disappoint. Our waiter was Felix and he was great and helpful in so many ways

The pool area is so lovely, with beautiful views from the indoor and outdoor pool. The breakfast includes an amazing choice with a huge buffet and pancakes/waffles and eggs made to order

The menus was concise but plenty of choice for a medium sized hotel in this region. Stephanie and Rachel were so helpful and their support sorting out the booking issues was so helpful

Great hotel Room was very clean, staff were very nice, balcony has great view, excellent breakfast, nothing we don’t like! Oh , and the half board dinner was excellent, for €29 per person you get 3 court dinner plus salads bar, deluoabd well presented!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Alpenhotel Fischer. The staff were lovely, speaking great English but being patient in letting me try speaking German too. Hotel facilities were great with breakfast being a highlight

Outstanding features were the high standard of service, friendly and super helpful staff, and value of the half-board option (highly recommended-the food was excellent and plentiful)

I originally chose this hotel because hotels in Hallstatt are expensive and fully booked. I researched and found that staying by lake in Grundlee was an option. Unexpectedly, I was treated to a stunning lake view

This hotel exceeded my expectations, mainly because it offered great value for money, and the breakfast was very plentiful. It's located next to Berchtesgaden train station, about a 10-minute walk up a slope

Everything is super good. Bus stop is right outside of the hotel, easy to go to hauptbanhof.

It was a comfortable stay with good elevated view from balcony and breakfast.

Staff is nice, breakfast is great But the hotel is quite old, there’s no lift from G-2/F Arrivals need to carry baggages with them and walk upstairs. But the room is big and cosy! And it’s clean as well!

Loved my stay here! Staff kept my luggage before check in and provided me free of charge a guest mobility card so I could travel around for free! Location is prime between train station and old town

My room was simple but very clean and very comfortable. Complimentary water on room and tea/coffee by the reception. Breakfast buffet starts at 7am and had a very large variety of items

Our family recently spent an unforgettable Christmas and skiing vacation at the wonderful Hotel Neuhäusl, and we cannot say enough about the incredible experience we had! This hotel was across the road from where we stayed. Only restaurant on the mountain. Fixed my wife and I a “carry out” of meats and cheeses to enjoy from our balcony across the street

The chef they have on premises is excellent. Our kids loved the pool and the hot tub. The apartment was very high quality and had everything we needed. Definitely book this if available

We were lucky enough to stay here for four nights in the middle of September 2024. Our views from our balcony were beautiful. We slept soundly thanks to the river flowing next to the road

This is a beautiful little place just outside of Berchtesgaden (less than 5 min drive). The new owners were very kind and flexible with us. They provided lots of great recommendations

We left nice and full for our adventures! We even had laundry done here and the smell of my fresh clothes when we unpacked made me think of our wonderful time in Berchtesgaden

This is a beautifully looked after apartment/hotel. The hosts Nicole & Klaus are wonderful people and looked after us very well. Gorgeous whole apartment overlooking the pool

Location wise, it's slightly outside the town-centre but walkable in around 15 minutes. There is plenty of parking on-site, useful to get your equipment back to your room

The playground was great for kids and though we were there at the end of March (not great patio season) I can only imagine that summer here is amazing, having a beer in the garden and looking out at the stunning mountains

Stayed three nights in the honeymoon suite for our honeymoon, and it was incredible. Gorgeous room, with a personal sauna, and a giant standing tub. The views out the window from the bedroom are to die for

We stayed in a family balcony room at Kulturhof Stanggass and absolutely loved it. The location is excellent—peaceful and scenic, yet close enough to explore Berchtesgaden and nearby attractions with ease

We stayed at the hotel for two nights in a suite room, and the experience was truly wonderful. The view from our room was absolutely magnificent, making our stay even more special

The price was reasonable given the room size, the quality, and the amazing environment. We would definitely recommend this hotel for families or anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic retreat in the Bavarian Alps

😂 The room was very spacious and could comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The bathroom was large and clean, with a separate shower and toilet area, which made it very convenient for a group

The location is quiet, outside Berchtesgaden, perfect for someone who loves quiet and peaceful, lots of parking directly in front of the property, which has an inviting outside area with lots of different outdoor furniture, patio heaters, blankets and even in the colder evenings of October it was enjoyable to have drinks outside

The Alpenhotel Bergzauber is really an idyllic and familiar place. Very warm welcome and you felt at home right from the start of your stay

The hotel is run by two super lovely people, and you can tell how much time and love they invest in the hotel. Both come from the area and always have good tips on what to do in the vicinity
