Scandic München Macherei in Munchen

We had a great time at the Scandic München hotel! The receptionist and hotel staff members were very kind. The hotel is very pretty and modern; elegant too. We didn’t have food there, but the bar and breakfast area looked very nice.

The rooms are very small and not that functional, but that’s almost every hotel in Europe. The A/C worked well, beds were comfortable as well, and the bathroom had a spacious shower with great water pressure and hot water. The hair dryer was excellent too for my wife.

They provided an iron as well, which was great. There was some water provided the first night, and there was some instant coffee too. I wish they would’ve had an espresso machine.

The service was very good; we had housekeeping during our stay, and they replaced our towels.

The location is very good because you’re in a residential area that is quiet and safe, and you’re 15-20 min away from downtown using the TRAM right in front of the hotel. There’s also tons of supermarkets around the area and an ALDI right next to the hotel, which was very convenient for buying water and other items.

We stayed at this hotel during Oktoberfest week, and it worked out excellent. I would stay here again; 5 stars.

So impressed by the reception staff. They were polite, efficient & very helpful.
The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Staff were constantly keeping the food replenished and clearing tables too.
Rooms are well designed with a good range of amenities.
Although a little further from the city centre than some hotels the tram stop is very nearby.

My partner and I stayed here Thursday-Monday to visit the Christmas markets in Munich and had a perfect stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very modern, staff helpful and polite, breakfast had a great selection and was very tasty.

You can also get the U21 tram directly into the Marienplatz within 20 mins, the stop is a 2 minute walk from the hotel doors.

Would recommend to all and would definitely stay again.

Close to tram station, aldi market. 15 minutes to altstat via tram. Good location, smiley hotel personel, clean room. Enough breakfast (I am turkish, my breakfast standards are a little bit high 😊). Scandic met my expectations in Munich.

We arrived very late past midnight and were warmly greeted by a friendly staff member, which was a great start. However, throughout the rest of our stay, we felt the overall welcome could have been warmer, especially when passing the front desk each day.

A lovely surprise was the birthday card and small gift the hotel prepared for my daughter — such a thoughtful touch and truly appreciated.

The room was spotless and cosy, with extremely comfortable beds. We also appreciated the more compact towels, which fit well with the hotel’s sustainability approach and were still perfectly comfortable for daily use.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Scandic München Macherei and would definitely consider returning.

I stayed here for a night due to a business trip. Truly enjoyed the stay! Friendly receptionist, clean stylish nice rooms, beds that can adjust to your needs, super silent and can easily darkened windows! The breakfast was very healthy and not boring at all! I definitely recommend it to everyone!

Location of the hotel is good, there are bus stops nearby for taking the bus to the train station. There are also several supermarkets nearby for visiting, very convenient to get the grocery. Hotel staff is also very friendly with the interaction. Room is very comfortable to stay as well.

Hotel was great. Breakfast was amazing. Gym is a bit too small and too crowded in the morning. Weird thing is they did not give us water daily and the only time we had cleaning they took away our card from the electric. Otherwise all good.
