Reviews
The hotel itself is extremely clean and the atmosphere is wonderfully quiet and comfortable, which is perfect for unwinding.
The absolute highlight for me was the breakfast. It was incredibly rich and abundant, offering a fantastic start to the day.
A special mention must go to the service in the breakfast area. The waitress named Dinh, who is from Vietnam, was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Her kind service made the dining experience even better.
Overall, from the spotless environment to the excellent breakfast and the very kind staff, the Classik Hotel Martinshof is a superb choice.
The staff is welcoming and helpful. I also enjoyed the breakfast, where local, self-made and organic products are served.
I didn't see an elevator in this hotel, which might be of an inconvenience for people with reduced mobility or heavy luggage.
As usual, pillows are a very personal thing, and I forgot mine at home. So to me the pillows were way too flat. I had to fold a blanket underneath to get a certain hight.
For the rest, everything was fine for me.
When I checked into my room, I noticed the kettle had a half centimeter layer of fuzzy white (presumably calcium) buildup. I brought it to them and they cleaned it, but not effectively. They did not clean all the white stuff off. At that point I did not feel like asking a second time, because I lost confidence that it would be cleaned fully. I would have cleaned it myself but lacked the tools for it. A shame, because I enjoy morning tea. I never did use the kettle during my stay.
The other (less important) quibble is that I had kept the "do not disturb" sign on my door handle facing the hallway, and several times noticed that upon my return the room had been cleaned anyway. When I put up such a sign, I expect staff to not enter my room. It was a bit surprising.
Every morning, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast and were warmly greeted by Dingh, who always ensured we had a great start to our day. This is definitely a place we would love to return to.
