Very basic hotel. I would not recommend the room I stayed to couples. However, as a solo traveler staying a couple of nights, it was more than enough. Coin-operated coffee machine at reception was good. Staff was very good, and friendly, they are the greatest asset of the hotel. I would stay again.

This is a decent accommodation respective of price. Expect no frills, it is merely somewhere to rest your head. Rooms are tiny, but clean and the shower was good, Wi-Fi was strong too. There are trams/trains right at the door to access anywhere in Berlin and plenty of restaurants/shops in the area too. We were on the top floor and could hear LOTS of ambulances, so I'd imagine this would be amplified...

The room was huge!!!!!! I had the top floor and so a fantastic view. Felt very spoiled with that. It is a bit out of the city centre and with a 30 min tram ride you will be in the centre. Really enjoyed the size and having a bathtub. Heater was working perfectly which was definitely needed as it was freezing outside. The location is great — the center of Berlin is within walking distance. The rooms are small but have everything you need. There’s a kettle with tea and coffee, and two bottles of water are provided every day. The hotel also has an underground garage, which is very convenient. The hotel is well maintained and clean. They don't have their own parking, so you have to use the one which is only 50 meters away. The room was clean and modern. Most of the 4 stars hotel have a coffee machine in the room. This one doesn't. The service was excellent and definitely you should try the restaurant.

I have not a single bad word to say about this hotel. Rooms are perfectly clean, bed was great, every single thing in room was on its place. One important thing, stuff that is working there is absolutely great, we were enjoyed our staying here and chilling with people working at the bar at the evenings. Whenever we come again to Berlin we will definetely stay at this hotel again.

The only thing I wish was different was the cost of the sauna. It would have been nice if it was included in the stay, or at least less expensive. But 22 Euro per use seemed very high.

Really liked this hotel. You can catch a lot of trains from this location. Easy access to different parts of the city. The interior is a bit basic so more appropriate for a business traveler but pretty clean. Overall I’m happy with my stay. The staff were always helpful and gave me some great tips.

There is a terrible terrible smell in the elevator. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. It smelled like an old and moldy dishrag. The drain in the shower didn’t work too well, so there was a big puddle in the shower shortly after starting it. Otherwise the location is good and the bed is comfortable.

Good choice in a great area of Berlin Stayed for one night and it was alright. Located in my favorite area in Berlin. Staff was helpful and room was clean and spaceous. The only minus is that there is a busy road next to the hotel, which was a bit noisy. While this didn't bother me, light sleepers might want to request a room that is not directly facing the road.

Staff was very kind and location is good. Curtains don't block out all the light so it is hard to sleep in. Hallways got noisy in the mornings with other guests and housekeeping staff. Decent value for the money.

Everything was fine. The hotel is fine for a three-day trip. However, breakfast hasn't been served since February. It was offered as an option for booking. It didn't bother us, but it should be rectified.

Overall we had a nice stay. Room and bathroom were nice, spacious and comfortable. Perfect if you enjoy staying in the Friedrichshain area. However, one of the receptionists’ lack of skills to communicate and the fact that rooms weren’t soundproof did decrease the overall experience.

the room was just fantastic: big, cosy, high ceiling big doors; amazing mirrors style of "old" fashion : very nice idea in my opinion. Very big just king size bathroom let me and my husband feel amazing. the price is not high in comperation with experience. Next time we stay in Berlin we'll choose one of their hotels.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The rooms were cute, spacious, and very clean, with a well-maintained bathroom. I especially loved the strong water pressure in the shower! The hotel overall is well-kept and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, with a large selection of delicious items to choose from.

The Tiergarten Hotel is in a good location, about 15 minutes by car from Berlin Train Station. The rooms are large and well-equipped. The front desk clerks were very good and polite. The only drawback is that there is no water heater, so I can't eat instant noodles at night.

My husband and I had an amazing time at the SO Berlin! The hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful. We were fortunate enough to have booked with breakfast included and the spread was so delicious every morning. The view into the zoo was unforgettable!

I had a great experience here. I especially liked the sweet doorman who helped me Friday 10-10-25. The room was inviting and outfitted well. I had everything that I needed. Nice concept, have been there twice. Unfortunately, the room needs some round-up. The mattress appeared a bit floppy, needs renewal. Some parts of the room seem to have seen better days. Small fixes should do.

You have to be a fan of open showers, wet floors, no hooks for towels and loud bathroom fans right next to the bed that can’t be turned off. Also, what's up with not offering daily cleaning, and bed making? You don't have to change sheets/towels every day if you want to save the planet. Fantastic hotel! The place has modern checkin and set up but still has a very responsive staff (shout out to Pablo for great advice and help)!!! The bed was super comfortable and the room was just plain great. And the shower was hot and with great waterflow (I write this because inlet really got and it was a nice notable thing). At first I was really put off by this hotel. It had hostel vibes and the rooms were cramped and dingy. But the overall hotel had so much personality and the breakfast was terrific. You can easily walk it from the Munich main station, and you can walk all through the old city to the main sites of interest. Made it very convenient unbeatable price beware there is no coffee maker or a fridge in the room.

Chose this for a business trip, didn't pay much attention to details, just needed a place to sleep for the night.

Great hotel. The tram stop right outside makes it easy to get to all parts of the city quickly. There's a beautiful park just around the corner. The rooms are very warm. Choose a room at the back, so you can open the windows without the noise from the street/tram. There are also surprisingly good dining/breakfast spots nearby.

Absolutely loved my stay at Gold Palais. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and tidy. We paid extra for breakfast which was delicious and there wasa huge variety to choose from. The location is good, a little bit further out but there is a tram stop just over the road. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was VERY expensive considering the choice/quality. I would prefer to spend less money in nearby independant businesses... The initial room I had was VERY hot and SMELLY. I asked to move to a room that had aircon, they said was was none. but when i did insist on moving, the new room had aircon.

My stay was spectacular. The staff was very nice and welcoming. They were even kind enough to share local options to take part in and they were all well received. Very easy access to public trans and so many food and shopping options to consider too.
