We stayed at this hotel for one night and had the absolute best experience. The hotel it's self is absolutely beautiful and in a great location for business travel or leisure. The manager Sabastian was top notch along with the evening bar staff. We had a great evening talking with them, and they gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do in or 24 hours in the city. We had 2 rooms, one for my husband and I and one for our teenage daughters. Both rooms were beautiful, comfortable and prefect for what we needed. 100% recommend this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel in the morning and were baffled as to why they asked for our credit cards without informing us, completely unaware that a €200 deposit for one night would be charged. They just swiped our cards without our knowledge! We were stunned when we received a notification. Shouldn't we usually provide documents to confirm the information? Then they said, "Hello, ma'am, we need a deposit. Would you like to pay by card or cash?" Then they said, "Oh, the room payment is already made. Now we just need to register your credit card." And just like that, €400 was charged! Was this some kind of scam? We rang the doorbell upon arrival, and since there was no receptionist, we opened the door hesitantly. We saw the male receptionist get up, see us come in, and then sit back down. We were completely ignored and had €400 charged without any explanation (we knew we needed to pay a deposit). We had other payment options ready. That long-haired guy at the front desk is a disaster for the service industry. If you want to be a highly individualistic service worker, please ensure your attitude and service quality are up to par.

My husband and I had an amazing time at the SO Berlin! The hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful. We were fortunate enough to have booked with breakfast included and the spread was so delicious every morning. The view into the zoo was unforgettable!

We stayed here in 2017 and really loved it. Now, we were a bit disappointed coming back some years later. While the lovely interior design still remains intact, there are some odd looking elements added to it now that disrupt the stylish and clean design (e.g. the blinking Christmas tree lights in the lobby, the Christmas decor in the restaurant, the furniture looks like it could need a new painting and mending here and there). We also did not love our room. It had small windows at a low height that were always partially covered by the blind. At the spa we couldn't find the towels, the bubbles in the pool were very loud and the few chairs available were taken. The service was friendly but a couple of misunderstandings occured. Nothing major but it seemed like folks were a bit unsure how to handle situations. For €400 a night, I would have expected a more seamless and coherent experience. Breakfast was great quality and I still love the pieceful and quiet vibes.

The hotel is situated in a great location - 20 min walking distance to shopping area and what is even cooler - it has its own entrance to magnificent Berlin zoo which we really loved. Nice design, very good champagne list in the bar, very comfortable bed and pillows, but the best of the hotel is Mattia , head of guest relations. Mattia helped us and solved our problem with the freshly bought suitcase which got broken at the hotel. Mattia helped us to get another one, Mattia and the hotel team was super helpful in regards to any requests we had and made our 2

I had a great experience here. I especially liked the sweet doorman who helped me Friday 10-10-25. The room was inviting and outfitted well. I had everything that I needed. The Hotel had an elevated yet simplistic ambiance. I enjoyed the sauna and the pool. It was a true Finnish sauna. I was lucky enough to have a room overlooking the zoo. That alone kept me entertained. I ordered room service as well as dining at the bar, and using the breakfast buffet. All dining was exceptional. I had the best freshest pan au chocolat Saturday morning. I enjoyed the variety offered at the buffet. Overall, I would stay here again, I do think the rooms with the view of the Zoo are worth it! The room was quiet, the windows are great at sound proofing!

It appears to be a high-end hotel in Berlin. The building itself is a somewhat historic structure with weathered stone facades. The rooms feature a modern design, with the designer cleverly integrating storage spaces to maximize the sense of spaciousness. High ceilings and large windows add to the overall comfort. The hotel is located next to a zoo and adjacent to a large park, surrounded by lush greenery. The downside is its distance from public transportation. It feels more like a resort destination.

Enjoyed the hotel stay very much. Breakfast was top quality - as good as any hotel we have stayed in before. Bedroom very comfortable and No noise. Only thing we liked a little less was the bathroom set up - taps at sink were not practical and very little space for toiletries.
