Business Wieland Hotel in Dusseldorf

Aggressive and ****** reception desk worker at night. Many reviews mentioning this unkept looking man. Felt very unsafe as a woman travelling alone. The angry looking man with long fingernails and long hair. Room is dirty and smelly. Bed is very uncomfortable and old. Pillows reek of sweat. Smoke detector is broken and flashing red above the bed all night. Airconditioner is broken. Curtain is too short and does not cover the window. There is a garrage(?) outside and extremely bright lights flash on al night. This lights up the whole room from evening to morning. I was awake all night. This is the worst place I have ever stayed at. Expensive room as well.

The reception was very nice. A very friendly lady. The rooms are okay but some things are broken or partly broken and not fixed. This is bad since it breaks down the overall experience of the hotel. The hotel advertises with the hotel bar. Also on the tablet present in the hotelroom.

However, when in the evening, around 9:30 PM we asked the man sitting behind the receptiondesk whether we could have a drink from the hotel bar, he was very unfriendly. He told us the hotel doesn't have a bar and that the hotel doesn't serve drinks. And yet, there were bottles right behind his back. Clearly he didn't want to serve drinks and didn't want to say anything to us at all. So when we left for a drink outside the hotel and returned to the hotel afterwards all he could do was throwing us a glaring stare. He was clearly not in the mood to talk or to be friendly.

The next morning the friendly lady was back and when we paid for the rooms she asked whether we had used the hotel bar?! Since I didn't want a discussion, I left at that. Next time I will visit another hotel since this hotel is not on par with what one might expect from a four star hotel.
