Best Hotels in Kato Gouves

We had a lovely walk around some lovely shops here, worth a visit. Overall we had a good holiday, we made the best of it. The rooms were basic but clean. Beds made and changed regularly. Staff were friendly and helpful

My family and I had a lovely holiday at Gouves. The staff were excellent, particularly Maria at Poseidon Bar who could not do enough for us

Not quite a 5 star hotel as advertised even under Greek ratings but very good. They need to keep improvements coming as new hotels are being built locally. Keep up the great work and thankyou for a great stay

Food was excellent: I have two fussy eaters and they could always find something to eat at the Buffet

I had a Spa Day and treatment - staff were excellent, sauna and jacazzui lovely. On a duller day took kids to the Aquarium which was good and only 30 min walk e/w along the seafront

The food at the all inclusive buffet is plentiful but just isn't hot enough, warm at best but never hot. Plenty of choice though for kids and adults which are happy to try stuff

Pleasant evening entertainment is available at the main bar. The real highlight is definitely the restaurant: the food was excellent, always varied and of very good quality

As in many parts of the island, toilet paper cannot be flushed in the WC. Finally, we would like to sincerely thank Ms. Fani from the Guest Experience Team, who made us feel like part of the family

She was always available, caring, full of useful recommendations and incredibly kind and welcoming. We love the Meliá brand, and this experience was yet another confirmation of its quality

The holiday has been good. The hotel is really clean staff are very friendly John kirao has been a standout as he is very approachable and credit to the hotel.

The property has been recently renovated: the common areas are spacious, well designed and, above all, extremely clean, with staff constantly working to maintain every area spotless

The resort also offers mini golf, a bocce court, table football, table tennis, a games room and an entertainment program with activities for both adults and children scheduled throughout the day

We made a complaint to the reception regarding our glass toilet door making an aweful noise when opening and closing as it was getting caught on something 3 times we reported it and was told nothing wrong with it

Entertainment was good, but the DJ by the pool during the day may have been a bit too loud and struggled to find the right songs for daytime djing, put me off my relaxation and had to put earphones in at times

The variety of restaurants is excellent – every meal was a pleasure – and in the evenings there is live music, which creates a wonderful atmosphere 🎶

Lovely large hotel with 4 pools! Right beside the beach. ( over the road) Free sunbeds for residents. So much choice on the buffet meals, each breakfast and evening meal. Great shower and all toiletries in the room

i took a video to reception of the door and now small shards of glass. they soon took notice and repaired the fault. Booked a massage/ they changed the time to fit other ppl in so moved our appointment

The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. A special mention goes to the lovely lady in the hotel shop – she is simply amazing, warm, and welcoming 💛

The staff are great here everyone very friendly, Sypro’s at the pool bar looked after us really well and went over and above and made the best cocktails! Thank you! Also the lady at breakfast with red and black braids she was very cheerful every morning always in high spirits

Another place to try is peskesi watch the YouTube video on it, it shows what it’s all about and the food was some of the best we tried, we didn’t drink but starter, main and two sides with a bottle of water and beer came to €50 euros

We went half board which was good we were happy because they said we can swap evening meal for lunch which worked for us as we like to eat out in different places in the evening

Hotel is good food, good variety with all all inclusive hotel food it’s a little samey but I can’t complain

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The staff have been extremely accommodating and so kind. The food and drinks are fabulous. The rooms and decoration is so aesthetic and clean

Entertainment has been so fun and inclusive of guests. Getting everyone up on their feet dancing. The location is beautiful not far from the beach at all

We spent 8 days (7 nights) at the Astir Beach Hotel and it was the best and most beautiful vacation I have ever had! It left strong memories and feelings in me

The food was amazing and although some items were repetitive, they tasted so good that we honestly didn’t mind eating some things more than once. There were a number of options that were new every night so it was great

The team there had activities for the kids and the equipment was clean and safe so our son was very entertained every day and had the best time

The staff was nice and helpful, the rooms were beautifully cleaned every day, the food was very very tasty. Overall, the hotel was clean, the pools were clean, the sunbeds were washed regularly, as were the sidewalks

Since the all-day animation programs were full of various activities and a different special program every evening, we didn't have time to go see much anywhere else, it was so delicious and fun

Thalia is an amazing host! She gives the best advice helps with everything you need nothing is too small she goes out of her way to help and make you feel accommodated really recommend this hotel

Lovely, lovely hotel - clean, well designed, great facilities. Our room was spacious and well maintained with quiet and effective air con - which was brilliant. The food was fabulous and value for money (half board)

We went on honeymoon, wow didn't disappoint the staff made us feel so special, always smiling and so helpful, only criticism is that the room was a bit small and not a lot around in relation to bars and restaurants, if you walk somewhat you will find them, its a very quiet resort so if you want a bit more about then this isn't for you, but we couldn't fault the hotel staff food amazing

My boyfriend and I went for 5 days, the staff were all so welcoming and helpful, providing us with food and complimentary drinks when we got in after a late flight

The fact that it is adults only made this a quiet and peaceful retreat. We had great weather so we were able to take full advantage of the pool and outdoor spaces

The spa was fabulous with a wide range of treatments and Katerina was great! No negatives for us - we would be very happy to visit this hotel again

Breakfast is continental, but ask and they will cook something for you eg full breakfast or omelette. Staff really lovely and very helpful and friendly. You can buy snacks at the bar till 4pm

We had lovely breakfasts and the service was fab and I am sorry to say I have forgot the lady’s name who served us with meals and at the bar but she was lovely. Lovely pool and comfy sunbeds

We read reviews of the blue sky before we booked. Brillant place for a relaxing holiday, arrived 1st October to the 12th October 2025

Maria and her staff are brilliant, breakfasts were good quality and delivered really fast. The pool is small but appropriate to the hotel sized, never felt too crammed even with 9 or 10 kids in playing

Great location for wandering to the main strip of Kato Gouves, even better for the beach and shops, and just a 15 minute walk to the main road for the excellent but services to the likes of Heraklion, Agios Nikolaus and Hersonissos

I say no-frills but it was perfect 3 star accommodation - good sized rooms, comfy beds (and no sofa or camping beds, full mattress beds, a bonus when there are 4 in a room)

The hotel overall is average but the staff is what makes is good, especially one of the receptionists called Sofia

If you don’t want to sit near the pool there is a grass area a bit further away where you can lay on the sun bed and it’s a lot more quiet. Rooms in the main building are clean and comfortable

Location- very close proximity to the sea, some sandy and rocky beaches within few minute walk

The rooms are nice and are always clean, but the room we were in, room 215 had water damage to the bathroom door, a sink that would leak water, the shower was sometimes warm, but most times cold and the wardrobe door was hanging off, however I managed to fix that

Sofia went above and beyond for us by suggesting great local places to eat, things to do and life in Crete. She always remained friendly, always greeted us when she saw us and always had a smile

I can honestly say that this is one of the best holidays I have had which was made even more special by the warm, kind, humour filled hospitality of the whole family and staff and whilst I would like to keep this little piece of Crete as a secret destination, I would urge anyone to book holiday here! Very much looking forward returning next year

Fantastic location for beach and local restaurants / bars and has its own cocktail bar out the front which serves the best cocktails in town. Basic rooms but that’s all you need as won’t be in there much

The rooms are traditional Greek apartments and spotlessly clean. The bar,Kondimar,is very popular with the best cocktails served by beautiful Ria. Can’t wait till next year 😎 xx

Still here ! What a relaxing, peaceful place to stay , I’d read a lot on here about the family who run it and you can see why people are so positive So welcoming and interact to the right level and very amusing, just nice people , the pool area is spotless with plenty of padded sun beds , the snack bar is also very tasty if you’re looking for a chilled week look no further

The food is delicious with a variety of dishes (can seriously recommend the salads!) and are prepared fresh by the family even down to the home grown fresh herbs! The rooms are comfortable and clean with all the amenities you need with lots of areas to escape the sun if you need to

From the moment we arrived after initially booking direct with Aris, we were made to feel so welcome. This fabulous family run hotel with its typical Greek style is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday in the sun

▪️The room we found to be clean with good air-conditioning and nice shower facilities, yes the kitchen area is a little dated however serves the purpose with a good sized fridge for our water

Good variety of freshly cooked traditional food, varying per day. There is also a pizza oven delivering tasty pizzas with various toppings. All staff are great, friendly and helpful

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel So we will start with the positives first ▪️upon arrival at around 10:30pm we were greeted by a helpful man on reception who checked us in quickly and offered us food for us and our 3 children

The room was cleaned regularly and fresh towels were provided every other day. ▪️The pool was clean and there was plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. They also allow inflatables which is great for the children

These were delicious and what we pretty much lived on (see negatives) ▪️we found the location to be close to the beach which was handy with 3 children

We returned to this hotel after first visit last October and it did not disappoint as we were worried if it would be as good for second visit Staff so friendly and helpful the receptionist Anna and her colleagues could t do enough all the bar staff and they remembered us which was a nice touch Any issues delay with swiftly Will be rebooking for next year

All inclusive the food as amazing help your self to as much as you want with different dishes every day and the food in the alicarte was like a Michelin star restaurant

Location is very good, beach is just 100 m away. Apartment is very clean, just One problem is that air conditioner cost here 6 euro per day, which i think is not fair. At The end of the day its imposible to sleep

The WiFi is poor in rooms, but good in pool area. Beach is near, shops and bars too

So, first of all, I want to tell you that the furniture is very modern! The water in the bathroom is very abundant. On the other hand, Rania, the host, is very absent, and she only speaks Greek, not a big deal in itself

Outstanding apartments with extremely friendly and helpful staff who truly went the extra mile for us. Apartments were spotless and spacious with a great patio area for sitting outside in the evening

I am here with my parents and two children and we have a 2 bedroom apartment which is very spacious and has a lovely size balcony I like that the pool area isn’t always too full and the food around the pool is beautiful so worth the money I would definitely come back the staff are friendly and attentive when there is any problem
