Hotels with aquapark in Kato Gouves

We didnt try the restaurants and stuck with Buffet which a wide range and variety of dishes - even Chinese! The cakes and desserts were exemplary! Drinks wise kids were happy with sodas and we drank the Minoan Era lager which we really liked

I had a Spa Day and treatment - staff were excellent, sauna and jacazzui lovely. On a duller day took kids to the Aquarium which was good and only 30 min walk e/w along the seafront

It seems they focus on little kids, and there's nothing for the 8 to 12 years old. The gym didn't have an aircon, was extremely hot, and was not comfortable to train

My family and I had a lovely holiday at Gouves. The staff were excellent, particularly Maria at Poseidon Bar who could not do enough for us

Food was excellent: I have two fussy eaters and they could always find something to eat at the Buffet

We came in April and it majority of facilities as to WHY we chose this hotel are closed and not available - play area for kids, indoor pool closed due to construction

There are 5 swimming pools, including a mini waterpark for children, making the resort perfect for families, fully reflecting the SOL by Meliá brand standards

Aspa and other lady at the cocktail bar were very sweet. There is Gym, Nice little shop inhouse, Swimming pools. Kitchen manager was very professional

They really are the heart of the hotel. The hotel has two large pools with plenty of sunbeds, and best of all, there was no need to rush down in the morning to reserve one

Choice of three pools or use the free bus which runs to the beach three times a day ! The food was nice enough but don't expect five star food at three star prices

We had a lovely stay at Club Lyda Hotel and would definitely return. The staff were absolutely fantastic – incredibly friendly and always willing to do whatever they could to make our stay better

Entertainment was minimal, but we stayed at the end of the season, so that might explain it. Overall, ignore the harsh reviews – this is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, great pools, and good value for money

The hotel is nice, clean and the food is delicious. The rooms are large and cleaned daily. There are tree swimming pools beetwen trees and flowers. The restaurant serves, among others, Greek dishes

Breakfast is continental, but ask and they will cook something for you eg full breakfast or omelette. Staff really lovely and very helpful and friendly. You can buy snacks at the bar till 4pm

We had lovely breakfasts and the service was fab and I am sorry to say I have forgot the lady’s name who served us with meals and at the bar but she was lovely. Lovely pool and comfy sunbeds

Lovely little complex with amazing staff. Niggles for me were the very basic rooms and only one towel and bedding change in a week. Pool area was small and as a result, we ended up at the beach almost every day

Maria and her staff are brilliant, breakfasts were good quality and delivered really fast. The pool is small but appropriate to the hotel sized, never felt too crammed even with 9 or 10 kids in playing

Great location for wandering to the main strip of Kato Gouves, even better for the beach and shops, and just a 15 minute walk to the main road for the excellent but services to the likes of Heraklion, Agios Nikolaus and Hersonissos

Very limited AI , pool bar was still closed , we have been promised daily that it will open the next day. AI drinks include beer, raki ,ouzo and brandy, local soft drinks. No gin or vodka or anything else like that

Hotel is old and you can see that not a lot has been spend on maintenance. There is no option of double bed. There are always two single beds put together. Bathrooms are dated but clean. Some rooms have unpleasant smell

There is a local cockerel waking up just after 4 am every day, neighborhood dog that barks most of the day and night but when it's quiet you can hear waves and crickets. All together you getting what you have paid for

A lot of people has moved to different local hotels after a night in Kaissa. It's a good place if you planning to explore the island but not so good if you are a "stay at the hotel" type

The bad points: Towels changed only once a week , bedding not changed at all, cleaning staff really horrible, food absolutely the same every day (although hot meals are not bad at all)

AI starts 10 am finishes 10 pm. Rooms are very dated, we had to move from our first room as sink and toilet both had a leak and bathroom tiles been coming of the wall

▪️The room we found to be clean with good air-conditioning and nice shower facilities, yes the kitchen area is a little dated however serves the purpose with a good sized fridge for our water

The room was cleaned regularly and fresh towels were provided every other day. ▪️The pool was clean and there was plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. They also allow inflatables which is great for the children

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel So we will start with the positives first ▪️upon arrival at around 10:30pm we were greeted by a helpful man on reception who checked us in quickly and offered us food for us and our 3 children

Were unsure if it was from the pork with vegetables or the beef with tomatoes as these are the only dishes that he ate and me and the children didn't. Both dishes were repeated daily as were alot of the other dishes

Due to the lack of trust of the food after my husbands food poisoning we decided to eat out on two nights at some local taverns which we absolutely loved even though we had paid for half board at the hotel

Now the negatives ▪️unfortunately on the second day my husband got food poisoning which put a real dampener to the first few days of our holiday as he couldnt get off the toilet

The water park is fantastic, with plenty of attractions for both kids and adults. Personally, I love coming in August, since the kids can fully enjoy their summer vacation

We had a wonderful time at the resort. We enjoyed the spa. The food was very good. We enjoyed the community cats also. We will be back. Nick was a very big help to us throughout our entire stay.

Food, staff, rooms and all facilities are great. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The swim-up was fantastic, quiet most of the time and waiter service to pool side was unexpected but appreciated

We stayed for a week in a suite with a private pool and loved it. The staff were excellent to a fault, especially the bar staff - couldn't rate them high enough

Private beach areas are lovely too. The water park for the granddaughter is great too

If you're going to Crete and want a 5 star resort then you should consider the Stella Palace. We didn't try the Aqua Park, but from the screams it sounded like everybody was enjoying themselves

Through my travel agency business I politely asked for upgraded rooms and we were not disappointed. We were given 3 rooms at the front of the pool, which were without a doubt the best rooms in the hotel

Before arrival, I requested that our rooms be next to each other, and the hotel delivered perfectly, all our rooms were together at the front of the pool

The facilities for children were incredible, especially the waterpark, which was a huge highlight for our family

We had a very nice stay in Anthoula village. Family atmosphere, very good staff, very nice rooms and very clean. The location is walking distance to the beach. The food was excellent and so was the pool

The pool was very good and quite quiet while we were there, which was good for me. We cannot fault the staff who were very helpful. The chef Demetrios served excellent food each day and was very attentive

The beach was within walking distance which was very accessible, The food was simply outstanding ( we booked breakfast and dinner) and all the service workers were extremely kind and amicable during our stay

This is our third time there, after twice in 2012+2013, and now again in 2025! What can I say - it was such a wise choice to return! Everything that made it a magical paradise in the past has stayed the same, and on top of that, some things were even upgraded (the new pool and renovated eating area are beautiful)

Perfect accomodation, very clean and spacious, also the furniture is very modern and new. The best is the private outdoor area with a private pool. There is a fence around this area, for a maximum of privacy

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff in particular Mike and Babis were so welcoming and looked after us in the restaurant. The villas are well equipped and the private pools a really good size

Most evenings, we spent in the outdoor bar talking with Eva and other guests. We enjoyed the super relaxed atmosphere of the ‘resort. Clean and swept every day to remove the Sahara dust, as were all the deck chairs

The accommodation is very nice clean and everything you need to self cater if you want to. However Eva cooks amazing traditional Greek food for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wish

In a moment of crisis when our baby wasn’t feeling well, Eva didn’t hesitate to personally take us to the hospital and make sure we were okay. Traveling with a 9-week-old baby, that level of care meant the world to us

There's an astro pitch, tennis courts and arcades and pool table for other entertainment. Unfortunately, didn't get an opportunity to try the sushi bar but it looked really nice

The establishment was really well looked-after and we spent a lot of time around the poolside. We loved the fact they had happy hour and served cocktails around the poolside

We discovered the traditional villages of Piskopiano and Koutouloufari which were similar in distance and had amazing Greek restaurants. Good bus links which we used to visit Knossos Palace and Malia

The food served at the restaurant was delicious and very good value for money. We got a taxi from Heraklion airport which was around a 25 minute drive and got the bus back to the airport

Loved this place! Looked like it was from a set from a movie. Great view of the water. Pretty private pool. Walking distance from restaurant and shops. But beware, the walk back up to the hotel is a steep one.

Just fantastic value for money good food we had a room with balcony that i would recommend any one booking because the view is idyllic Daily cleaning throughout hotel The room itself was a little soulless, but the beds were surprisingly comfortable, and we had everything we needed

I really loved that Hersonissos Village isn't far from Limenas Chersonisou with a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainments. The closes beach is just 450 m away

If you enjoy planes, they are flying above the hotel quite often but the noise won't bother you at all because cicadas were louder :D We got used to them quite fast

Good quality service for both accommodation and food. Room service was always checking the room to make sure it is clean with fresh towels. Great bartender service, shout out to Dimitris and Nikos

We loved our sundowners at the top pool bar 🍸- Mythos and lime and a Prosecco with a strawberry 🍓 - cheers! We used the tennis court a few times and it's perfectly adequate once you get used to the cracks along the service and base lines - we had good fun on the court 😁 and it was one of the reasons why we booked Bellos

20 mins uphill from hersonnisos, and quite a steep slope down to hotel, so I imagine would be challenging for people with mobility issues, but there are taxis you can get for 10 euros to Hersonissos or 10 euros up to the beautiful village of Koutouloufari

We have a fabulous time at Bellos for our week's holiday in early October. Liked the fact that you had a big fridge with a freezer section. Balcony was nice for a morning coffee in the sunshine

Pool areas were really nice - we preferred the upper grassy area as it was quieter. Both pool bars were great and the staff were so helpful - thank you Hannah and Costas

We did two tours, one to Knossos and Heraklion and the other to Spinalonga and Agios Nikolaos - both excellent and we were picked up from outside Bellos - we booked through GetYourGuide and our guides on both tours were excellent

Just returned from our family holiday. All the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. We arrived after 11pm to a very warm welcome and was even left plates of food and bottles of water in our fridges

This is a lovely resort, really quite unique as it's like being in a village. There are 7 restaurants which is nice as you can have a different dinner experience instead of the buffet all the time

Basic, clean accommodation and a lovely pool area and bar. Unfortunately, the hotel description doesn't match the reality so we have felt somewhat short changed

The shower blocked at one point and toaster packed up but all were sorted quickly. The pool and sun bathing area were good and the poolside bar/ cafe ok

There are no cookers, no live entertainment or kids clubs and no games room. The pool was also closed and cordoned off

The other disappointing thing is that almost everything nearby is closed and the village and 'beach' are basically a construction site

Just returned from a 15-day holiday at Hotel Ilios Chersonissos, together with my daughter. It is not a modern hotel, but everything you need is there and it is very clean

The swimming pool is also nice, and Nancy, the barmaid by the pool, is cheerful and very helpful. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended

The reception staff, Ada and Lone, among others, are super friendly and helpful. For those who do not speak English, Lone is a godsend; she is Dutch and incredibly friendly and helpful

Nothing is too much trouble for them; they are always there for you. The restaurant staff is also extremely friendly
